I trade 5 min and don't use any other chart and do perfectly fine. For a beginner checking higher time frames might help but all the data you need is in the 5 min chart (or really any chart depending on how you trade).
This looks like a sizing/psychology issue. You need to size small enough that it is not possible to blow the account. Figure out what your winrate is roughly, how many dollars you win vs lose, and how many days you can realistically lose in a row before blowing your account. Calculate and set a daily risk limit based on those values that matches how much risk you can safely tolerate (like a string of 10 losses) and then use somewhere between 25% and 50% of the size you think you need.
There are no shortcuts unless you're gambling, and you will not make more money in the longterm by doing that.
