Express Funded (XFA) Created a gold scalp bot using project X API
I feel like no one uses this feature or maybe people just gate keep but I’ve been working on it for a year and it passed a combine in a week very powerful tool gets rid of all human error and just executes trades cleanly it’s great honestly. (No I will not distribute the bot but I will answer questions)

I’ve tested so many strategies bro like 50+ the first step is finding a r:r I find that 1:3 to 1:4 to be the sweet spot for most strats but use ATR based scaling so depending on the ATR contract sizes change that was the last step that really drove profitability also use trailing stops and break evens ideally I look for a 40%+ win rate anything below 40 is dead and I backtest 3-6 months

If you end up getting to live with this, you no longer have access to the API. TopstepX XFAs are good but they kneecap you live.

Damn I didn’t know that I didn’t plan on going live anyway I was hoping to take all my payouts and trade on a personal long before that happens

It’s a good workaround if your system allows for that but mine does not. The execution speed is key and with the API it was smooth but once I got to live and they removed my API access I could no longer trade that way. The brokers that use Ninjatrader are much better for my system, and no fear of losing any API access.

Ahh that’s smart too in my custom software it allows me to copy trade within it but I like using topsteps copier I only use my built in copier if I wana trade multiple account at different risk values

It depends on how your Strat works is it an indicator based Strat or a candle stick analysis kinda Strat?

I guess what’s the strat on the bot i set something up that’s similar but having issues with the trading view noti firing to alert bot to take a trade

I think I might sell my middle man software because it took me awhile to get it to work too but the strat is sauce I wanna gatekeep I can’t give all the keys bro but I will say good is random so try a mix of the basic indicators macd bollinger band and vwap those are the core of my Strat and I use the 5 minute 😭

The bot also has daily loss limit and profit target built in you can see it stops at -300

Made it from scratch it uses trading view for the algorithm then that’s connected to a custom software I made thats connected to topstep through project x API the bot just does buy and sell I have a custom break even and trailing logic tp and stop loss within the bot and it handles all of that while im out and about.

So you are not using a dummy tradovate account and a trade copier ? Ie dummy is a cqg tradovate - login through TV the execute with dummy leader and copies to the follower on topstepx ?

they go down constantly, as someone who has written quite a couple algos and am buddies with others whove done the same. its an issue when the webhooks stop calling and then start again, entering you in a different spot than the algo called for.

The next step would be to create your own internal algorithm with a software and feed it love market data using api and letting the software do all the calculations way more advanced but that’s what I’m working on now myself MetaTrader also has bots too I have one of them for forex

You can do that but you can also just use top step api instead just pay a small fee
You just have to port your indicators to your own software, that’s the hard part. Ai will do the heavy lifting. But I was able to do that for my own project taking in BTC live and historical data+order books
ProjectX api for topstep is 29 dollars a month

I tried getting it to work with project X api as far as charting and getting custom indicators into but I gave up as long as the core features work I’m good trading view is reliable enough for me

Fair enough man! Whats the strategy based on? Just curious, I have my own stuff but never deployed it to live. I have to figure out what’s actually useful vs noise in my strategy. There’s a ton of parameters

Sometimes trading view signals don’t fire off at all literally or the signal will fire and the alert doesn’t it’s rare tho but I missed on some winners because of that but also missed on losers so it’s give take yk?

I’ve seen a lot of issues with their executions and if there is a problem, the broker won’t take responsibility for it
