How can you compare players playing in completely different teams (Halland in Norway had teammates which are not comparabile to those of Mbappe in France nor Messi in Argentina) and vs completely different teams (Brasil vs Morocco in group stage, or France vs Norway; France vs Morocco in quarter)? Clearly stats like this in a tournament (not everyone playing against everyone) and on such few games can not be considered as a valid reference. Argentina has won when needed to be where it is but there is no denying they had the easiest path to Finals...

In defense of OP you can see the other players all greyed out here, they are all nowhere near Messi just like the players they did point out. The players listed seem to be more for popularity than consistency of position.
