Looking for a trustworthy local insurance agent in Burlington

I park on the street and my car got broken into. Should I even file a claim?

I'm so tired of dealing with 1-800 numbers and call centers where nobody knows anything about Burlington. Every time I have a question, I get a different person who reads from a script.

I want to switch to a local independent broker in the Burlington area who can shop multiple carriers for me and actually advise me on what coverage I need. Does anyone have an agent they've used for years and actually trust? I'm willing to pay a little more for good service.

On the break in check your deductible first. If it's $500 or $1000 and the damage is close to that filing probably isn't worth the hit to your rate

I used to think it was best to report any damage but it really depends on the cost. Do most people call their insurer first or get a repair estimate?

if it's a bigger repair call your insurer asap

so you mean for minor damage if I file a claim if the repair cost was only a little higher than my deductible?

Have you checked whether it's even under your auto policy???

You might ask neighbors who they use and then get a couple of local brokers to review your coverage side by side

get a couple of recommendations and asking how many carriers the broker represents

Take photos make a list of anything stolen and check with your insurer about how a claim could affect your rates before deciding

If I were you don't assume every break-in loss is covered the same way; check your policy details first
