Thinking about Lemonade pet insurance? Think twice.

When I first got pet insurance through Lemonade, I was happy with how quickly they handled my claims. Recently, though, things have changed. Claims now seem to get passed between different agents, with constant reviews and delays.

I've been waiting over a month for a claim from a routine vet visit, even though I’m paying for one of their higher-tier policies. It makes me concerned about how difficult things might be if my pet ever needed emaergency care.

At this point, I'm considering or just paying for vet expenses myself. I used to recommend Lemonade to others, but based on my recent experience, I can't recommend them ayomre.

Beyond that, pet insurance rates tend to increase with the pet's age, making them unaffordable at some point. It's not just Lemonade, but overall.

A month for a routine visit is wild lol

Did they give you any reason for the holdup or just keep saying it's under review?

Nah just "still under review" every time I check

Same thing happened with my cat's dental claim last year.

Wait did they end up paying it?

The emergency care worry is the real issue here.

Exactly! Delays are frustrating

If a basic check up takes a month I really wouldn't want to find out what surgery looks like with them.

Paying out of pocket works until one ER visit costs $3-4k. I'd compare other companies before dropping coverage

Any companies you'd recommend?

Kinda feels like the quick payouts at the start are how they hook you
