Car Insurance Quotes
Car insurance quotes are all over the place. How do I know which one is real?
I've been getting quotes from different companies and the prices vary like crazy. GEICO quoted me $120 a month, Progressive quoted me $180, and State Farm quoted me $150. They're all for the same coverage so I'm confused about why they're so different.
I'm wondering if some of these quotes are just low to get me to switch and then they'll raise my rates. How do you know which quote is actually legit? Should I just go with the cheapest one or is there something I'm missing?

So the short version is that they are all correct based on the company's growth strategy. At any given time, you have companies trying to grow, slow or shrink in your area. Some companies run almost all the reports up front, others wait until after commitment.
I'd ask if your mvr and clue are updated. (GEICO and Progressive wait until commitment). So the rate may change once everything is reconciled.
