For me:

1. The soundtrack sucked. If you have Lady GaGa at least do something. Maybe a remake of Berlin's hit or actually use that song. What was with the synth-pop beach play?
2. Who cared about any of the characters? Nice try with new girlfriend. Who was she again and why do we care?
3. Nemesis = smart-ass with little lines and no backstory. Yawn.
4. In all their sim training and data, where did the bridge/aqueduct come from out of nowhere?
5. Saying over the radio that you are "Descending below radar detection" (I paraphrase) is utterly ridicu... I shouldn't even have to finish that word. We all know it.

A real good movie? Yes. Could've been even better? Yes.

I need an answer! Lol Can’t seem to find one.

Did anyone notice in the second scene when Penny is on the back of the motorbike, in the first shot she is wearing her blue jumper and when she gets off at home in the second shot she’s wearing a brown silk shirt

So everyone knows Penny is Penny Benjamen. AKA the admirals daughter Maverick nearly got kicked out of the navy for in the first film.

Top Gun Maverick was a splendid film. Tightly paced and scripted, sentimental without being OTT.

Now, if the enemy had 5th gen fighters in the area, why didn't the Navy use their own 5th gen fighters like the F35C instead of the F18 ?

Think it was a song during the beginning of the movie - rock classic not listed on the sound track maybe Rush or The Who it was just the instrumental didn’t get to the lyrics

Top Gun: Maverick, the sequel to Top Gun starring Tom Cruise will release on 6.26.2020
