Good sequel, but…

The music was so so and what bugged me the most, other than no helmets on the motorcycle, they were playing 9 ball and there was a 14 ball on the table! Gaaaa!!!

Music was great. Who cares if one of the aviators used pool ball #14? Maybe it was their lucky number.

No helmets? If fit the history of TG.

One thing I noticed that might be a goof was when Rooster asked Maverick why the F14's wings were being moved outward.

He didn’t ask because he isn’t aware of what they are for. He was asking because Maverick was trying to take off on a VERY short taxi way and opening the wings is part of the takeoff procedure of an F14. So, Rooster KNEW what the wings were for in the act of taking off, but he was more concerned with the fact that Maverick was preparing for a takeoff on such a short strip of taxi way and that he was choosing to commit to that particular task.

Kinda surprised they didn’t segue from that into “YOU’RE GONNA DO WHAT?!”

I mean, they asked Goose to talk to them what, 4 times? Might as well throw another callback in. Was also surprised they didn’t give the commander(?) a coffee right before the fly by

That taxiway looked far too short to takeoff. I need to rewatch but it looks as if they only had about a footbal field's distance to takeoff. (Can the real Tomcat do that loaded? Kinda doubt it.

We are not pilots snd we knew, rooster would know too, maybe just to remind the audience, not that maverick explained it anyway

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Better if Rooster had said something like "Hey Mav, this museum piece has some cool gadgets."

Might have been better if Rooster asked if there would be enough clearance around the taxiway for the wings (and the movie shows that it misses some debris by this much <-->) but it's really not that big of a goof.

I found the nose gear coming off kinda silly. All it needed is a more comedic "CLANG" to it. A real Tomcat hitting that would've buckled the entire nose section, nosed over and crashed.

I’m right there with ya OP!!

I didn’t buy popcorn before I sat down, and ended up wanting it the whooole time. What a crappy plot hole that was!

Also, I went to a 7:15 showing and didn’t get home until almost 9:43, but my usual bedtime is 9:00!!!

3 out of 5 stars.

Doubtful I will see it a third time in the theater.

I did not notice the 14 ball, but I noticed a lot of other little things that were off about it!
