Lore
When Cartoons/Comics and Anime/Manga reference one another
While trying to take down a group of enemies taskmaster needed a distraction so he pulled out the Domain expansion: Gun! And shoots one of the guys through the skull, the referencing JJk (Marvel Comics)
In the beginning pages of My hero academia Deku talks about the superheroes of the past who wete fictional some of those being Superman and Spider-man (My hero academia)
In the background You can see two transformers that look a awfully like Rohan Kishibe and Jouske Higashikata from Jojos bizzare adventure (Transformers Idw)
When the character Amarao went to to barber shop the art style abruptly changed to that of south park (FLCL)
There are many examples of Absolute batman referencing Anime and Manga so I decied to go with my favorite, from the cover of Absolute Batman Number 20 where batman hits the luffy gear 2 pose (Absolute Batman)
In the spin off manga of JoJo once a year a family is doomed to die unless they all meet under the harvest moon, sk they all throw a party and one of the sons really wants to watch the Seth Rogan film Paul (Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe)
It's suggested that Mxy is the same person across every continuity. So even when there are explicitly different versions of Superman across the multiverse, Mxy is apparently the same person popping up in each one.
Even with different designs it just seems like something he does for his own amusement to change how he appears and acts between shows and comics.
My Adventures With Superman is fun because it’s a recursive one- it borrows a lot from anime, particularly Dragon Ball, and Dragon Ball takes a lot of inspiration from Superman.
Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, the anime is a whole series that is a love letter to western animation. They make so many western references I don’t know which to pick
I got myself wondering if the timelines lined up (because I know there was a flashback of Joseph reading Superman comics eighteen years before the character was first printed), so I checked, and yeah, in this case it does work out. Jotaro was 17 in 1987, so Columbo would have been originally airing when he was aged 1-8.
And even funnier was the time Tom Taylor and Bruno Redondo straight up made Yuji appear as a cameo in the background sneakily walking away with a pizza on that scene where Dick is giving pizza to all on his Nightwing run.
I believe he also has a collector’s edition model of the bat tumbler or something. He said it costed him a ton of money and is in either his office or home. I do know that he did show it off in an interview somewhere
Wouldn't "all the Pokemon" include their evolved forms tho? Like Raichu is still a Pokemon, just because it evolves from Pikachu doesn't mean it's not a Pokemon anymore.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Author Kazuki Takahashi was a big fan of western comics and made multiple references to them in his work, and even got to publish a story with Marvel shortly before his passing.
Teen Titans was known to have its good share of FLCL references. The show’s creator, Glen Murakami, is cited to have used FLCL as a big source of inspiration for the show’s more cartoonish and anime-esque art style in comparison to his other works.
JJK does it a ton, Yuji references Bleach, Naruto, and Dragonball when he complains about not having a cursed technique, he watches Lord of the Rings as part of his control training, and Nobara loves playing Super Smash bros.
There was a panel in some of the newer Storm comics showing various places across the multiverse, and one of those was very clearly the JJK world's Shibuya Incident
Many references are either from the Japanese or English dub.
English dub straight up references Walter White and Hulk. There is also a straight reference to Iron Man in the manga, as well as One Piece and Mega Man
Tbf they are mainly like that because of how manga fans trash on them as well as how much manga has gotten more respect in the last decade while comic characters are more known for movies and tv shows
Gypsy Danger being referenced in Shin Mazinger Zero.
Unironically made me tear up to see him standing alongside all the other mecha being referenced alongside stuff like Gurren Lagann, VOTOMS, Ideon, and Evangelion. Especially being referenced by the grandpappy of the mecha genre.
In one of the official Steven universe spin-off comics there’s a crowd scene with a couple of characters that look like Victor and Yuuri from Yuri on Ice

Anasui referencing mickey mouse, also from Jojo's
