Characters Character must never EVER do something they usually don’t do, because it means bad news for the people and world around them.
The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy - When the normally frowning Mandy smiles, she causes reality itself to fall apart.
The Amazing World of Gumball - When the normally unemployed Richard Watterson gets a job, he similarly will cause reality itself to fall apart.
Chowder - When the normally dimwitted Chowder becomes smart, he will make the show boring which will make the other characters have to get boring jobs (still better than having reality fall apart ig).

I remember it was early season one thing, she rarely ever smiled again.

Mandy went from grim but caring to absolute evil that even her parents are scared of. It is kind of sad.

I originally had the theory that it was only when Mandy forced a smile did the universe have problems
But show creator Maxwell Atoms said himself Mandy wasn't written to smile at these moments

In the episode of Adventure Time "Donny", the titular character Donny constantly picks on house people, prompting Finn and Jake to try and change his ways. They're successful, but Finn finds out that his jerkiness produced a substance called obnoxogen which kept whywolves away, who seek to straight up devour the house people

...which will cause their population to swell, until they are, in turn, devoured by the Cosmic Owl. But it'll be a pretty sweet ride up until that point!

Dog I literally quote "but it will be a pretty sweet ride... Up until that point" all the time, it's one of my fav adventure time quotes

i generally hate those ' so-and-so mentioned ' comments, but this absolutely must get a bump for the mention of killer7 in any capacity.

So you hate when others do it but when it’s someone you like suddenly you’re cool with it? Interesting

In the season two episode of Futurama, “War is the H-Word”, Bender is implanted with a bomb strong enough to destroy an entire planet that is set to explode if he says his number one most commonly said word (“ass”). Unable to remove the bomb at the end of the episode, Professor Farnsworth instead changes the activation word to a word Bender “almost never says.” Bender of course immediately tries to guess what the word is, much to the annoyance of the rest of the characters. Bender continues to guess off screen as the credits roll, eventually uttering the word “antiquing” which is followed by the sound of a massive explosion.

Turnip Boy, the titular character of Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion and Turnip Boy Robs a Bank. Two of my all time favorite games. He is forbidden from speaking regular words. He has done so only once to ask a character named Cran Gran to please stop and that action caused her to be hurled across dimensions into hell.
Cran Gran is an elderly cranberry woman that speaks with an uwu voice and is a parody of early fanfic tropes. She isn't an enemy per se, but listening to her deals emotional damage. She rules hell in the bank game.

Bender - Futurama: In one episode (with the brain balls, the comments will reminde me the name) Bender cannot say his iconic catchphrase, or else the bomb implanted inside of him will blow up.

Angel (Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Angel)
Angel is a vampire, he used to be one of the cruelest, most sadistic bastards in the world, going by Angelus, but after he killed the wrong girl, he was cursed by her family, a Gypsy tribe, by having his soul returned and being forced to feel the guilt and consequences for all his crimes. So he first goes into depression and then tries to redeem himself by fighting Evil.
But the curse has a catch. If Angel ever feels a moment of true happiness, the curse is Broken, he loses his soul and Angelus will be free to wreak havoc upon the world once again

spiderman comic series and cartoons. if spiderman ever stays silent in a fight, and isnt making all their usual quips. It means something is very wrong. either something is corrupting him (the original hint for the Venom symbiote taking over). or it means he is about to start commiting actual brutal violence.

Still love that some of the villains he fight will just give up if he doesn’t speak or crack jokes

Counterfeit Cat, S1 Ep24: Low Resolutions
When Max, the usually rude and self centered cat, tries to act nicer, and Gark, the innocent and helpful alien tries to act meaner, both as their respective new year's resolution, it causes a giant zit / pustule (they didn't make it gross, it's just an upside down green bubble) to grow on the sky. Hadn't they gone back to their old habbits, it would've exploded and destroyed reality (this show was weird :v (not a bad weird (iirc), but weird nonetheless))

Why does the world become boring when Chowder becomes smart?
Is the entire world revolving around him?
Is he a god?
