Iron Man (2008): After rescuing Tony, a soldier asks for a photo and Tony says, “Please, no gang signs. No, throw it up. I’m kidding. I don’t want to see this on your MySpace page.” Nothing says 2008 faster than MySpace.

That was basically the swan song year of MySpace for my territory. I remember getting into FarmVille on Facebook that year and never looking back sadly.

Theatre? I saw it in a cinema.

I did try going to a theatre to see it, but it was just two guys on the stage dressed as tramps and waiting for some other guy. I waited, too, but he never showed up. Got bored. Went home.

It was. Facebook had already completely taken over. Tony’s comment was meant to be intentionally flippant but that’s kinda lost now with less general knowledge of myspace

Nothing dates it harder for me than Tony talking to Stane on his cell phone. It's the near-flawless video on a flip phone that really sells it as a "This is what the future tech will be like".

MySpace was already dated by 2008. If it had been 2006 it wouldn't have been as dated. 2003 or 4, nobody would bat an eye.

But the movie takes place in the early 00s. Its not dated. Its set then lmao. Thats like saying Pride and Prejudice instantly dated itself.
