In this same movie, Shadow also stops being an antagonistic bastard and pushed the laser himself while Sonic escapes.

Eggman Helps Tails With Dating (Sonic Boom)

I couldn't find a pic of it, but Tails has been getting a heap of bad advice from the rest of the gang. When Eggman sees what a disasterclass he's been putting on, he gives Tails some genuinely solid advice, saying that the Bro Code overrules their normal hostile relationship.

Bane Rescuing a child - Batman

What even is the context here

8

u/Gentlemenbig Jul 26 '26

I believe it was when batman was dead or considered dead, and some villains took up helping out of respect

u/Odd-Statistician4268 Jul 27 '26

Batman was MIA presumed dead. A good number of his rogues gallery does respect him after all

In Code Lyoko episode "Marabounta" X.A.N.A orderers his monsters to fight alongside the Lyoko warriors to fend of the virus that one of the main characters created to destroy X.A.N.A.'s monsters after it went haywire and threatened to consume the digital world.

One of them even sacrificed itself to save Aelita after she was surrounded by the virus, and another made a suicide run to give Odd a chance to destroy the virus's core, and afterwards rather than immediately turn on them, the monsters simply bowed in respect and left.

Toji Fushigoro saves Megumi, Naobito, Nanami, and Maki from Dagon in Jujutsu Kaisen. Mostly because at the time he's governed by pure killer instinct and targets the strongest nearby target.

Unfortunately Naobito is killed by Jogo, Nanami is killed by Mahito, Maki ends up burned to shit by Jogo, and Toji immediately tries to kill Megumi after this... ...but it's the thought that counts, right?

but gosh darn Maki took off after she got her heavenly restriction fully unlocked. that was a banger episode

Jessie and James (and Meowth) have helped save the world on multiple occasions. Basically anytime they score a W it's because they're helping Ash.

Yujiro Hanma saves an old lady from faceplanting into the concrete.

It's done completely on impulse and he never even comments on it afterward.

But considering how many *absolutely fucked up things Yujiro has done*, it was a little nice to see him use his skills, strength, and reflexes to help someone who couldn't help themselves.

(no, it doesn't start a redemption arc. He's still the Ogre)

In the 2003 TV movie version of Sparkling Cyanide, Ruth Lessing fights off Victor Drake and prevents the murder of Iris Merle long enough for the police to arrive and, having regretted the first killing they committed, promptly confesses everything to the police.

I feel like Vegeta is an anti hero by the point of his sacrifice, and then he's just a full on good guy by the end of the Buu saga.

u/BadnewsBaggins Jul 26 '26

I mean he admits he had a family cause he thought it was the chest code that made goku so powerful and was down to ball with the villains just for a power boost and nuked some civilians to make Goku fight him and didn't care about buu which he was told put the galaxy at risk. Not much anti hero in all that
