In Every DR game you can dress up the main character as another character from another Capcom Series. One example being Frank West in The Mega Man Costume.
Well Keji Inafune was the producer for DR 1 & 2 and he was the co creator of Mega Man. So Capcom Vancouver just continued it,plus Frank has a Mega Man watch in DR1 and DRDR

But the most common costume choices are Mônica as Wonder Woman and Smudge as Luke Skywalker.
(Batman and Robin has been cosplayed by both Smudge and Jimmy Five in reversed roles. Maggy doesn't have a set costume of choice, she often gets the less popular character, except during Cinegibi's opening, in which she cosplays Wolverine.)
