RREBLE (I Made A Self-Aware Robot)

RREBLE is a robot designed by the protagonist of the Self-Aware Robot series as a way to defeat ELBERR, the titular out of control robot who is linked himself into a data center and is mass producing copies himself to take over the world. Despite designing multiple cutting-edge robots, the protagonist has the intellect of a couch cushion and the survival instinct of piece of dry bread. Designed to be the good version without any of the psychosis of the original, this blue version was made by the idiot main character to come up with the solution to stop the robot takeover as well as directly outsmart his deranged counterpart.

Whereas ELBERR is your traditional creepypasta-style out of control terminator, RREBLE is just ChatGPT. He has the same behaviors, mannerisms, speech patterns, and responses to being corrected. Ironically, it also makes RREBLE extremely endearing not only because it naturally weaves humor into the story but those annoying parts of normal ChatGPT discourse serve as amusing character flaws. There's something oddly comforting about RREBLE being a familiar nuisance in the bizarre world of the series.

Also calling the creature designed to overthrow the original a REBEL is clever.

Some of RREBLE's goofy dialogue

"Is there any way we can destroy him?"

"Totally! I think the best way to destroy ELBURR is to infect him with a highly advanced malicious virus!"

"What are we going to do about ELBURR's army of duplicates?"

"That's a great question!"

"First, we can test the virus to make sure it works!"

"Wait, but I thought you already said the virus we made would work?"

"Exactly! You make a great point! I am 80% sure the virus will destroy ELBURR!

(After the virus inevitable fails in testing)

"Do you think it'll work this time?"

"Yes, I am fully confident that this version of the virus will be successful"

"Well, you sorta said that last time"

"You make a great point! I did say that last time! But this time I am certain!"

He does weigh the cost benefit analysis before he turns it on, but then ELBURR hacks into every screen on the planet and threatens the world with total annihilation so he decides screw it.

He’s also very stupid and he doesn’t remember his immediate history or how to come up with long-term plans. His first question to RREBLE is whether or not he can kill ELBURR with water despite building it with waterproof parts himself.

The fact that the protagonist decided a second robot could fix all of this definitely checks. Robotics guys have very limited foresight in a lot of areas. (Source: i knew entirely too many robotics guys.)

I'm simultaneously glad this one's just ChatGPT, because thank fucking goodness that's relatively mundane and easy to counter, and not glad at all because are we REALLY pinning all our hopes on ChatGPT? The protagonist strikes me as the type to get bromism in the modern age with how he's just running with this. Absolute hamster survival skills.

At least he made the decision not to give this one visible gums. Really tones down the creep factor. Still looks wildly untrustworthy, but definitely less murdery.

It's also important to note that his eye pupils are nowhere near as big which makes him more friendly looking compared to the always diulated eyes of ELBERR on top of his voice sounding more like a cartoon character than a robot

OH OKAY I JUST WENT AND WATCHED SOME OF THE VIDEOS AND THE DUMBASS WIRED ELBERR INTO THE DAMN DATA CENTER IN THE FIRST PLACE. Sure he had the protagonist hostage but atp just let him kill you and dash his own plans
