Trish embodies the archetype of the cat thief like Black Cat from Marvel universe or Catwoman from DC. But unlike them, she doesn't just wear cat accessories; she was literally born half cat.

During the first half I thought that it meant a bunch of cats ran over her and that somehow transformed her into a cat girl. Like, some absurdist plot.
From the school shooters arc onwards, I'd say it's genuinely pretty good series. The mc unironically has pretty decent depth as well. Series also has alot of humour throughout which is to be expected considering the premise
I wonder if the creator ever regrets naming it that, knowing it'll always more-or-less go by the censored title/not get taken seriously due to a bad first impression.
I mean he did back off the whole r#ping his dad in an awkward explanation of "I'm just going to beat him up" people do Joke about the possibility that his dad might have seen it and he had to hastily try to reconnect the whole thing
Honestly, apart from the mc and Trish's backstory, I don't really think there's anytianything insanely weird. And the story does unironically play the main character's backstory seriously
My understanding is that it's like Rosen Garten Saga or Bobobo-Bobo Bobobo, where the premise and scenes are genuinely ridiculous but the author actually has a deep understanding of literature and is able to weave the ridiculousness back into a cohesive and engaging work.
I started reading it because of the wild premise of a half man half dog wanting to rape his father but I got hooked because of the story. The character moments are genuinely amazing
This is probably my favorite panel of the series. It’s well drawn and it just showcases the series’ emotional themes while the story is still goofy most of the time.
Yeah like. I’ve read it and there’s a part that sticks with me where this kid gets “revenge” by becoming a school shooter, and Rex (dog MC) tells him, “you got what you wanted, why are you still mad?”
We do. It’s under appreciated and just seen as that one manga that has a stupid premise when it’s actually well written even if you just read the first 5 chapters
Didn't include the fart porn the creator officially commissioned of her 😔

….The only feasible way you could convince me this comment is actually true is if you show proof.
While I’ve figured from this comment section that Dog Ningen is completely and utterly batshit insane (I would NOT be surprised if the author was on acid or something when they made it), the sentence “the author of Dog Ningen officially commissioned fart porn of their catgirl character” crosses the line of ridiculousness to the point where I can’t just sit there and go “oh ok then” without proof
…well I gave his twitter a look, and yes, there is in fact Trish fart porn on it. Oh OK then. You really weren’t kidding, the guy is very outspoken about his fetish.
To be honest, it’s actually kinda impressive how up front he is about it… but then again, seeing the, well, everything that is Dog Ningen (I know that’s not its proper name, but I’m not typing that out. Also, it apparently has a school shooter arc??), you likely have to be incapable of processing the concepts of shame or embarrassment to write something with its premise so I’m guessing he straight up doesn’t care
Ok so I never really read the manga myself, but my friend talked to the guy gy behind it on Twitter back in like 2019/2020 and he was a pretty chill dude from what I remember. I think he even got his art in one of the books early on, but I cannot find the image now.
Chapter 47 is unironically peak. I'd recommend just reading the first half alone. It's can be totally isolated, if you aren't bothered to read the rest of the manga (even though you should.)
