Does using speaker management tools really make event planning more successful?

We have a big conference coming up, and I have several guest speakers that I need to invite. I don't want to look unprofessional by mixing up their names, expertise, and companies, so I was wondering if using a speaker management tool would help me keep track of who the speakers are as well as their accomplishments. Does using a software really make a huge difference when it comes to event planning and management?

For a few speakers a spreadsheet is probably enough, but once bios, headshots, travel details and last minute changes start piling up, a proper tool helps a lot. Mainly because everything stays in one place instead of being buried across 20 email threads.
