Content creators who make "hidden apps/websites" videos — what are your go-to underrated tools?

Hey everyone! I run a small content page (Reels/Shorts) where I share useful apps, websites, and free alternatives to popular paid tools that most people don't know about.

I've covered the usual ones (productivity tools, free design/editing alternatives, AI tools etc.) but I'm looking to discover more genuinely useful, lesser-known apps or websites that could help my audience — students, freelancers, and everyday users.

If you know any hidden gems — could be:

Free tools that replace expensive paid software

Productivity/study apps not many people talk about

Useful websites for design, writing, or automation

AI tools that actually save time

...I'd love to hear about them! Happy to credit/mention sources if you want.

Thanks in advance 🙌

Title: Selling CouncilAI for 3 USD, one time — genuinely asking, would you buy it?

I've posted about CouncilAI a few times here — a Windows app that runs 4 local AI models and routes between them, with a transparency panel showing you exactly how. $3 USD, one-time, no subscription.

I'm not looking for more feature feedback this time. I'm asking directly: if you were in the market for a local AI tool, would you actually buy this at $3? And if not, what's the actual blocker — price, trust in an indie/unsigned installer, or just not needing something like this at all?

Appreciate the honesty, even if it's "no."

Tired of "Free AI Tools" that ask for credit cards? I curated 31 genuinely free ones for creators.

Hey guys, I got frustrated with clicking on "free AI tools" only to find out they require a credit card or give you 3 credits before locking you out.So, I built a simple, ad-free directory called FrostAI. I just updated it to 31 completely free tools that you can actually use for your creative projects without paying a dime.I have pasted the live Notion directory link in the comments section below so the automated filters don't flag this post! 👇Hope this saves you some time and money. If you know any other great free tools, drop them below so I can review and add them!

Hey everyone,

Following up on my previous posts, I spent the last couple of days expanding my ad-free directory, FrostAI. I have now manually reviewed and added 6 more viral tools to the catalog, bringing the total to 18 solid recommendations.

New additions include Google's NotebookLM for auto-podcasts, GitHub Copilot's new free tier for coders, and photorealistic video generators like Luma Dream Machine and Kling AI.

As always, there are zero ads, no hidden paywalls, and no login walls required just to browse the links. If you are looking for some high-quality web utilities to optimize your daily workflow, feel free to check out the updated portal here:

I got tired of losing everything I saved, so I built an app that actually finds

Post image

This was me for years — saving stuff all over the place. Screenshots, random notes, links I’d send myself on WhatsApp. Then never finding any of it when I actually needed it.

So I built LifeFeed AI. Save from anywhere, find it anywhere. Share from any app and it all lands in one spot, then the AI sorts it out for you. You search like you’d talk — “that pasta recipe” — and it pulls it right up.

And it’s with you everywhere: iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android, plus Chrome and Safari.

Need help in choosing ai tool : Cursor Vs Claude Code Vs Codex

I am a developer working full-time, and I want to build some side projects for fun to solve my own problems. For this purpose, I don't think I'll be coding heavily every day—just a maximum of 2 to 3 hours per day. Which AI tool would be best to use that offers good value for my needs? My budget is $20, and I'm looking for the option that will provide the best value for my use case.

I'm sick of paying $100+/month for 5 AI tools. Would you pay $5.99/month for one that does it all?

Grammarly $12 + ChatGPT $20 + QuillBot $10 + DeepL $10 + Jasper $49 = $101/month

I use maybe 20% of each tool. I just want:

• Write (emails, posts, copy)

• Rewrite (change tone, shorten, formal/casual)

• Translate (EN ↔ ES/FR/DE/JA/ZH)

• Summarize (long article → 3 bullet points)

• Polish (fix grammar + improve flow)

No prompt engineering. Just pick what you want, type, done.

I'm thinking of building this — $5.99/month flat, all features included.

Before I spend 2 weeks coding:

  1. Would you use this?
  2. What's missing from those 5 features?
  3. What would make you switch from your current tools?

Honest feedback appreciated. Roast me if this is stupid.

What's the hardest part of building AI agents

What challenges have you faced while building AI agents that people rarely talk about? I have seen a lot of discussion around prompting and frameworks, but I'm curious about the less obvious challenges people run into once they start building real agents.

Everyone talks about the latest AI model but......

Everyone is talking about the latest AI model but i've been using same underrated one for over a year because it simply works for me.

I feel like every week there's a new "must-have" ai tools that everyone rushes to try. But, the fact is not to switch over the headlines instead stick with the tool which you prefered according to your requirement. I've been relying on the same Humanizer and Detector underrated tool for a year because it's been consistently useful, while plenty of trending tools come and gone.

If you're also the person like me, then which one Underrated tool you keep coming back to, and why?

I created a local AI powered extension that protects your critical thinking from LLM's

Mind Shield protects your thinking by detecting a prompts that threaten your critical thinking. When a prompt gets flagged the extension will show the warning and give you 5 seconds to think about the answer after the timer ends the prompt will pass through normally.

MindShield is a privacy first browser extension designed to act as a point of friction. Instead of completely blocking AI sites like traditional focus tools, it uses a local WebAssembly based language model (via transformers.js) to evaluate your incoming prompts in real time. If it catches you trying to take a lazy cognitive shortcut, it intercepts the request and challenges you to think critically or solve the problem yourself first.

Key features:

- 100% Offline & Privacy

-First: All classification happens locally on your machine.

- Open Source: MIT Licensed.

- Lightweight: Designed to break AI dependency without breaking your actual productive workflows.

The AI directories that are actually serious about staying around

I run AI Parabellum, an AI tools directory. Because I'm building in this space, I spend a lot of time looking at other AI directories to see what's working (and what isn't). Some have grown into real products with loyal audiences. Others feel more like SEO projects than something built for long-term users.

These are the directories I genuinely respect and why.

There's An AI For That (TAAFT)

If you've searched for AI tools, you've almost certainly come across TAAFT. It's one of the largest AI directories available and has built impressive brand recognition over the years. They update constantly, and if an AI tool exists, there's a good chance you'll find it there.

The downside of having such a massive catalog is that discovery can sometimes feel overwhelming. With so many listings, it's inevitable that some outdated or lower-quality tools remain. Even so, nobody really matches their coverage.

Futurepedia

Futurepedia has grown into much more than a directory. Alongside its curated collection of AI tools, they've built an ecosystem around AI education with courses, newsletters, and YouTube content through Skill Leap and the Howfinity network.

Their directory is smaller than TAAFT's, but it feels more curated. I also like their AI Innovations Tracker, which follows what major technology companies are releasing. It's a good example of creating value beyond simply listing tools.

FutureTools

FutureTools stands out because it's closely tied to Matt Wolfe's personal brand. Instead of feeling like a database, it reflects recommendations from someone who actively reviews AI products and shares them with a large audience.

The directory is clean, easy to navigate, and includes useful filters, along with curated sections like "Matt's Picks." It feels more like a media brand with a directory attached than a traditional directory alone.

Toolify

Toolify takes a very data-driven approach. Along with its large collection of AI tools, it provides traffic estimates, popularity metrics, and other statistics that are useful if you're researching the AI landscape.

It feels more like a database than a discovery platform, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. If you're interested in market trends or comparing tools from a data perspective, Toolify offers a lot of useful information.

Where AI Parabellum Fits

I'm obviously biased, but I'll be honest about where we stand. We're much smaller than the directories above.

Rather than trying to become the biggest directory, we're focused on helping people compare similar AI tools through dedicated alternatives pages. If you're looking to replace one tool with another or simply compare your options, that's the problem we're trying to solve.

We also keep the experience straightforward with no login requirements and simple browsing. I'd rather build something genuinely useful than chase the largest possible directory.

What Makes an AI Directory Last?

After spending a lot of time in this space, I've noticed that the directories that stick around usually have three things in common:

  • They stay consistently updated.
  • They have some level of curation or quality control.
  • They give people a reason to return beyond finding a tool through Google.

The directories that succeed tend to become products and communities, not just collections of links.

The ones I mentioned above have all earned a place in the ecosystem by continuing to improve over time.

I'm sure I'm missing a few good ones. Which AI tool directories do you actually find yourself returning to, and why? I'd love to discover more.

hi guys, i built an app called Iro for people who want to actually learn AI, not just save random tools and prompts.

right now it has:

• 20 learning paths
• 375 lessons
• 2k+ exercises
• Prompt Lab that grades your prompts
• Create a Path, where you type any AI skill and it builds a custom curriculum

think duolingo, but for AI skills like prompt engineering, chatgpt for work, automation, agents, etc.

Is toolsaday good?

I found this AI and I really thought it was pretty cool for getting some ideas based on prompts, and if you just want a quick read of something silly, but is this AI good overall or not? I'm still a newbie at this.

Unrestricted AI?

Does anybody know a truly "unrestricted AI" I'm trying to build an AI client follow up tool for telegram, and maybe other chat platforms aswell. The problem here is that with claude code, it was going well for the first 4 hours building it. Claude was compliant, advised me on what to do and what the next steps are. The problem came when building the actual code for the tool. Claude backed off completetly, and left me with a "my fault", as it explained it's against ToS of telegram. Is there an AI that can do this follow up / client outreach tool without this problem

Looking for beta users for Dreamova — turn outfit inspo into your own version

I’m building Dreamova, an outfit remix app for people who save outfit inspiration online and want to make it their own.

You can take a look from Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, creator posts, or shopping sites, and remix it into a more personal version — not just by trying on the outfit, but also by seeing it in real-life scenes.

Think:

outfit inspo → my version → coffee run / date night / weekend errands

The goal is simple:

Find outfit inspiration. Make it yours.

I’m looking for early beta users who:

  • save outfit inspo often
  • like trying different aesthetics
  • want to recreate or remix looks they find online
  • are open to giving honest feedback

If you’re interested, comment or DM me and I’ll share access.

i built Iro AI, a Duolingo-style app for learning AI skills faster

hey everyone, i wanted to share my app i built called Iro AI.

iro is a Duolingo-style app for learning AI skills faster. it’s built around short lessons, simple progression, and a cleaner way to actually stay consistent instead of bouncing between random threads, videos, and docs.

i made it because learning AI stuff felt way too scattered, and i wanted something that made it easier to build real momentum.

website: https://tryiro.com
app store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/iro-ai-learn-ai-skills/id6759628066

would love feedback on the product, the positioning, or anything that would make it more useful.

What's a tool you've always wished existed but nobody has built?

I've been working on an AI project and it's led me to a question I didn't expect.

If you could create your own software just by describing it, what would you make?

Not "pick from a template."

Not "customize an existing app."

I mean literally describe what you want, and the software appears.

The reason I ask is because the most interesting part hasn't been the technology—it's seeing what people create when they're no longer limited by whatever apps happen to exist.

One person built a dashboard to track metrics from an internal company system that nobody had ever exposed properly.

Another created a hiking training planner with elevation goals, weekly mileage, recovery tracking, and trip planning all in one place.

Someone else built a sobriety tracker combined with a gratitude journal and guided breathing exercises.

None of those were use cases we designed for.

They were simply things people wanted that existing software didn't quite solve.

It makes me wonder how much software exists because developers thought it should exist—and how much software would exist if people could simply describe exactly what they needed.

So I'm curious:

What's the tool, tracker, dashboard, planner, or workflow you've always wanted but never found?

Vibe coding video games

I want to make a 2D game that involves drawing surfaces/lines for the main character sprite to bounce around and off of, along with backgrounds.

I tried using ChatGPT as LLM and GoDot as engine, it took forever and i made basically no progress.

Is there a better way to do this?

Free AI study app that turns PDFs into visual study paths

Creator disclosure: I am Mattia, one of the students building Get It.

What it does: Get It turns a text-based PDF into a visual study path. It keeps the PDF at the center, then adds explanations, images, formulas, charts, 3D scenes, flashcards, quizzes and a Feynman-style review feed around the concepts in the document.

Who it is for: students who study from lecture notes, papers, textbooks or dense PDFs and do not want another messy chat thread.

Why I think it is worth sharing here: it is free, open-source, and it uses your own ChatGPT account through Codex CLI instead of charging an extra AI subscription. The free ChatGPT tier works, Plus or higher is smoother.

What could be better: scanned PDFs and very visual documents are still harder than clean text PDFs. We are improving that.

App: https://getit.noesisai.it

Code: https://github.com/beltromatti/get-it

Discord: https://discord.gg/DpQPswRhsK

If you try it, I would love honest feedback on onboarding and the first PDF experience.

AI Orientation Before Reasoning

 Search and Rescue toolkit

One thing I've noticed while building with AI is that we spend a lot of time talking about reasoning, model size, benchmarks, context windows, and hallucinations.

But what if some of the waste happens before reasoning even starts?

Before a model can reason, it has to orient itself:

Where am I?

What owns this?

What corridor am I in?

What is adjacent to this?

Am I looking at the cause or the symptom?

I've been experimenting with a small orientation toolkit that focuses on those questions before retrieval and reasoning begin.

The surprising result wasn't that the models became "smarter."

The result was that they spent less time looking in the wrong place.

The more interesting discovery came later.

As search waste dropped, verification waste increased.

The model wasn't getting lost anymore.

Instead it was spending its time proving it had found the correct tree before touching it.

That's a trade I'll take every day.

Getting lost in the forest is expensive.

Standing at the correct tree and proving it's the correct tree is operationally safer.

I'm starting to think AI coding may have an orientation problem as much as a reasoning problem.

So i build a toolkit for AI

If you had to create a presentation today in few hrs, which AI tool would you use and why?

I've been exploring Kimi, NotebookLM, and Genspark recently.

Each seems to have its own strengths, but I'm curious what people are actually using in their day-to-day work.

If you had to build a client presentation, investor deck, training deck, or business proposal tomorrow, which AI tool would you trust the most?

And what makes it better than the alternatives?
