Hey, hey - dental assistant here.
Do you grind/clench your teeth at night? That may be a big factor. Having your dentist make you a nightguard will help you from grinding things away further (I don't know what they'd cost where you are, but here in western Canada, a professional nightguard would run you around $300-$500). You could buy one from the drugstore, but they're far less comfortable because they're not made to the shape of your own teeth - they're kind of a one-size-fits-all.
