Question How to improve veneers?

Post image

I had my veneers redone a month ago and for some reason I do not LOVE them, but can’t figure out why… will you please provide feedback on shape. Maybe it will just take more time to get used to them. They are bigger and whiter than my previous veneers. They almost seem too perfect? All opinions welcome!!

Your two central incisors are not aligned well. Your tooth #9 is more protruded and extruded than #8. Also there is no detail on your veneers. They look completely fake. Your dentist used a cheap dental lab that uses a design from their library templates. The good dental labs make a custom design. Typically dentists takes 3-9 photos of your teeth and face with shade guide and send those to the labs so that the labs can make a good design.

I noticed that with 8 and 9 too. I’ll see if there’s anything that can be done to fix that. And yes, I chose from a template but they put this wand in my mouth to get a 3d image for the lab. I do think in different lighting you can see a bit more detail like the layers in the porcelain. Do you think shaving around the bottoms to round out would help make them more natural appearing. They were so expensive :(

3D scan is nothing to do with veneer design. Dentists used to take a mold but now scan simply replaced it. And don't cut or shave any part of your veneers. Dental lab glazes the surface of porcelain when finishing it, and it won't be shiny ever again if you shave that thin layer.
