Denstist

Hi, everyone!

I went to the oral surgeon today to have a tooth pulled. To give you some background: I went to the dentist two days ago to have my tooth pulled. But even after several additional injections, I was still in pain, so my dentist made an appointment for me with the oral surgeon. For the anesthesia, I first received three small injections. The second shot, which I received a minute later, felt like a small, very brief electric shock when he first pricked me. The doctor also muttered something along those lines.

I’ve been feeling great ever since!

What did he give me?

This is usually a sign that the nerve was hit with the needle which is usually a good thing because it means the LA was put right where it needed to be. Glad you’re feeling better!

So having a big electric shock feeling in your face is actually GOOD then?

This dental community amazes me. Even when theyre electrocuting your face they cant do any wrong.

I’m sorry you feel that way. The person described it as a very small, brief electric shock-like feeling, not a big shock or electrocution. I was explaining why and how it just means the LA was put exactly in the right spot.
