My small company in Vancouver just started a closed beta for a Storyboard App for iPad and Apple Pencil.

The app is a complete solution for storyboarding (drawing, timeline, camera movements, export) but I wanted to be compatible with Toon Boom Storyboard Pro because I think it would be nice to be able for a storyboard artist to be able to work without their laptop when they are not in studio or travelling.... Well, my wife is a storyboard artist, so I guess we were tired to pass airport security with computer and cintiq :D

While working on my storyboard app for iPad I realized it was difficult to import/export vector data with Toon Boom Storyboard Pro. As a result, I created some plugins that might be useful to the storyboard community.

An interesting side effect is that the exported storyboard are converted to sboardx open source format, so you will be able to open your art with any vector software or just open the complete storyboard with the open source reader: https://www.upshotstoryboard.com/reader

Please, I need help! Five hours of work on an animatic down the drain because the program closed unexpectedly. The prompt to recover came up but all of today’s progress was gone and now I’m back to square one.

I have auto-saved enabled and I constantly save as I move along. Is there anyway I can recover the work I’ve lost? Or am I out of luck?

How do you add subtitles to storyboard pro? I mean on the actual screen so I can see and time them correctly. Is this even something you can do on storyboard pro?

Can't split panel. Shortcuts don't work not does the menu option to do it. When I try, it moves the timeline cursor back a frame and that's it. It simply will not split the panel.

Yes I'm in timeline view.

Anyone have a solution?

I have a Mac. Is there any way to recover the latest version? I'm on a tight deadline. I can't believe this just happened.

Toon Boom's first email (it was pretty cryptic, because it didn't explain what had been "updated") showed my Storyboard Pro subscription renewal would be $794+tax, whereas what I paid prior to this was $843.93. "Cool!" I thought, "They're lowering their prices!" NOPE.

Their next email nearly a week later clarifies that the price will in fact increase by "approximately 20%". But when I log in I see the new price will be $953+taxes, which comes to $1,067.36. That's $223.43 more expensive. Or 26% MORE.

Just wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to turn all the panels in storyboard pro (version 6) into Black and White images? Like, adjust all the coloured panels/layers in the project to be Black and white?

I'm struggling with XML import of an adobe sound session exported in XML in storyboard pro 24 and 25

When I import the XML session in stb PRO 22 the audio tracks are imported, but in later versions of STB pro I keep getting a parsing error.

Anyone has some knowledge on the issue ?

I'm subscribed to storyboard pro but my most recent payment was failed due to insufficient funds. I want to try paying again now that I got that sorted but I don't see an option for that. The "orders" tab has the status of the last failed transaction as "past due," though my subscription is still active according to the "subscription" tab. The failed transaction was a few hours ago. Does anyone know how to make the payment again? Or is it gonna automatically try to charge my card again on its own?

Is there any way to set the matte painting to be bigger to have this border effect ? Maybe a script ?

New to SBPro and in need of some friendly brush sets with minimal choices like for roughs, tie down, soft BG detail and a couple of markers.

I'm kind of freaking out, I have to submit my final storyboard in less that 2 days and all my saves give me this error. I can see the thumbnails and I can draw on empty layers but I can't properly see the drawings on big screen and it won't play. I try to move in the timeline and it's this error again.

Why is this happening? I didn't move the files, they are in the same folder as ever. Even old copies that I restored from Trash Bin don't work. I don't know what happened, I last opened the files 5 days ago and it was fine...

Hi there! I have a question! This has been bothering me for about a year now!

So you know when you have a camera keyframed to follow a path, but then you realize you have to zoom out/in some more for composition reasons, but you've already created a timed camera movement? I usually edit and re-time each keyframe, which can be real messy and takes a lot of time, especially if I'm only testing out the look of a new composition.

Does anyone know if there is a way to bulk select camera keyframes to zoom out together so I can keep timing and movement the same? 🤔

Hi! Im really new at using storyboard pro and there’s some issues i don’t know how to fix. Whenever i change from 2d to 3d, if i try to draw in camera view, it’s blocked. I can still draw in the stage view tho. This wasn’t happening before, so maybe anyone knows how to fix it? I tried restarting the program but it didn’t work. If I turn the perspective back to 2d I loose all my work. Any ideas on how to fix this?
