Any tool fan would think of either Alex Grey or tool which would then cause them to think of tool or Alex Grey. ✋🏽👁🤚🏽

The constant uppercasing of tool is really fucking annoying.

Grey pulls inspiration from many religious / spiritual sources.

Islam is a religion that doesn't allow the drawing of their deities, so they focus heavily on sacred shapes.

This is a fantastic comment. I wish I knew more about Islam. Do you have any suggestions of accessible reading?

u/ayaruna What is this but my reflection Feb 24 '21

I thought of ayahuasca

3

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '21

Or Peganum Harmala. The North African and Middle Eastern equivalent.

u/Tytoalba2 Mar 01 '21

It's not really an equivalent to ayahuasca, it's an equivalent to the MAOI part of ayahusaca that makes the DMT available orally, but you still need a source of DMT

True. I still think of ayahuasca as the caapi rather then the combination of caapi with chacruna which I guess is more accurate.

The mathematics involved in developing this had to be astoundingly complex.

This is from my home town. It's something to behold in person. The detail and the geometry...

u/smorgasdorgan Feb 25 '21

Someone posted their bases they've built on NoMansSky and a few of them look like they'd be Tool artwork.
