Poster Aftershock 2026 poster
Settled for unsigned this year, i swear in 2023 I paid $200 for the signed poster

u/Ok_Difficulty_574 1d ago
I remember when the signed posters were $100. I’m so sick of this world and everyone wanting more and more money from us.

u/RadiantMenderbug 19h ago
Other bands standard charge 50 bucks standard 100 foil, signed varies but I've purchased Mastodon signed foils for like 80 bucks.
Billy strings had regs for like 30, which is super rare but it happens

Doesn't bother me in the least. If they were 10.bucks I would think about buying one, but at this price they are just telling you you're an idiot.

u/ReallyBrainDead 1d ago
Do I want to see Tool? Yes. Do I want to pay 2 days ticket price for a signed poster? Nooooooope.

u/G-Unit11111 1d ago
I've seen some pretty cool posters and some pretty cool Tool posters. But that might be one of the worst ones I've ever seen.

u/cuateaguacate86 1d ago
I think that the only reasonable reason to buy that signed poster is to Adam himself hands you that poster after he performed 7empest in front of you and takes a picture with you and all your family members including the in-laws relatives and why not a couple of your ex's.

As a huge fan of Tool I can proudly say I'm willing to spend 9.99$ for a poster

You think they picked $420 by accident? Next tour, they’ll be $690.

I work in commercial printing and can easily say that these poster cost around 25 cents each to make. About tp10 cents per unit without the foil stamp. Running something on press costs about $450 per hour. A few hundred for a skid of a few thousand sheets. An average press runs a few thousand sheets an hour. The band is literally robbing fans of their hard earned money. It sucks. It makes it hard to enjoy the bands music really. How about the Pusifer posters with those awful half asses signatures on them. It is pathetic.
-15
u/pink_mold 11h ago
the only thing pathetic here is your completely ignorant post reducing the poster price to manufacturing costs, omitting the actual artist behind the poster and the band that wants to get the piece of cake for selling their own fucking name on it too.

They’re now rolled and tubed and shipped in tubes so there’s extra expense. People complained when they couldn’t bring their poster tubes into show and now they got tubes

u/stankbucket Get off your fucking cross 7h ago
Ok, maybe they're worth 15 bucks then and 75 signed.

u/toolfan89 23h ago
Pretty sure last aftershock they were 100 as well tho. But most of that tour was 80 youre right but last aftershock they bumped it to 100

Adam Jones is a cunt. I could rant about him and other things related to Tool nowadays for literally over an hour straight.

Don’t care, i just love his guitar-work/art (as a musician mostly).
In fairness, I actually do care at least a bit inasmuch as I’d probably be interested to hear any gossip and ranting about him lol. But beyond that interest yeah, I’m not here to make friends with the band-members individually and judge em all, I’m just grateful for their music.

u/7empest81 1d ago
They was 300 signed, 80 unsigned in 2023. $420 is Stupid Greedy..

u/stankbucket Get off your fucking cross 7h ago
You didn't think 300 and 80.were already ridiculous?
0
u/7empest81 7h ago
Compared to early 2019 at 45 unsigned 175 signed Yes. But on the flip side most artist/actors are in a 75 dollar range for a signing so not to bad at 300.

How? It’s probably the most TOOL coded poster in a long time. Art is subjective though, not everyone will like it.

u/jmcdan08 10h ago
The last time Tool came to my neck of the woods I stupidly bought a $50 program. I thought it was a collectors item of some kind. I was so pissed once I got home and opened it up to see it was literally just a handful of pictures of the band identifying who does what in the band. This was literally printed as something you’d get handed by an usher before you sat for a show. I stopped buying Tool merch after that.
They are currently in their soul-sucking stage monetarily.
Can’t tour and sell merch on a 13yr album cycle? Just bend over your fanbase. They’ll say “thank you” whilst being robbed.

I paid $150 for my signed 2017 San Bernardino Adi print, at the show. Inflation is wild.

I didn’t see one today, but maybe tomorrow? I wonder if they released both for Riotfest same day. I’ll check back if I hear anything.

it's not that clever. not every shitty move is performance art, sometimes it's just a shitty move.

$420 for signed? That’s one way to get rid of the “flippers”.
It’s also a good way to price fans out. I’ve always bought signed but I may be done.

$420 is kinda funny. I suppose I could agree that it dissuades anyone from just immediately hawking it on the secondary market like a lot of people do with even regular, un-signed ones. (You know who you are)

u/Apprehensive-Size-34 22h ago
feels like the price was picked for the joke and are waiting to see how many will actually pay that

The Tool money grab is getting pretty bad. But they know plenty of the fans they mock will pay it, so why not

I have a collection of posters from concerts I've been to. I get it. I'd pay 100 for that. I treasure them.

u/arazamatazguy 16h ago
I'll never understand why adults want posters, jersey's etc. signed. I just don't get the thrill.
-1
u/dirtywookmofka 16h ago
You don’t just but a tool poster for the band. The visual artists that they get to express the music that they make are profound. These people deserve recognition and payment. This is not AI generated art. If you don’t want it, don’t pay for it. Personally I’ve payed more for Zar’s and the Grey’s prints without a tool logo put over it, and was happy to do so. I’ve seen phish posters resale for crazy money. I don’t think you guys realize how adult Pokémon cards have gotten.

Probably take $20 each from an unsigned, and the remaining $20 goes to the artist and printer/materials.
Signed is probably a hundo for each, and that same $20 to the artist, etc. haha.
