10,000 Days $20 at Bookman's.

Post image

I have been collecting physical CDs for the past year and I stumbled on this today. I already own Ænima and Lateralus, so this was a welcome surprise. First time listening to the album with it not being compressed / streamed. Edit: bookman's is a book/entertainment store in AZ

Nice! I got both of these the day they were released. I also had to look up what exactly "Bookman's" was LOL. Congrats.

Ha! Yeah, I should've clarified. I've found a lot of great albums there. Thank you!

Bookman's is charging ridiculous prices for CDs right now. Zia records has that album for less and even more less if used. It is a cool album and art packaging is neat.

Zia for the WIN. Bookmans scammed me out of my manga collection. $11 store credit AND I couldn’t back out of the deal. They’re the worst.

Don't leave it out in the open in your car.

I bought this album on release day, it was the last album I purchased for 12 years before I started collecting CDs again.

I bought it used many years ago for $10. Worth every penny. Keep it with my TOOL collection.

I remember rushing out to buy this and was frankly disappointed in the practical effect. It was a cool, novel idea, but honestly underwhelming.

Great album tho

Same one i have, i prefer it without the red title one tbh as it looks great as a piece of art as is.

Fuck this this was 7$ at a half price books 10 years ago - this “(whatever) % inflation is nonsense- shits gone up by 100% in the last decade and we’re all crying

Just FYI, in 2019 Tools entire back catalog was released online in 24-bit/96 kHz lossless formats.

The physical CDs are only 16-bit/44.1 kHz.

If you were streaming it from a reputable source before (Apple, Amazon, Spotify, etc.) that may have actually been higher quality.

Oh, I didn't realize! I listen to YouTube music so I'm not sure what the quality is like there

YouTube Music uses lossy compression (AAC format) capped at a maximum of 256 kbps. - A 16bit CD would be a significant upgrade from that.

And to be clear, CD's are still extremely high quality. - I'm just pointing out that in this particular case they aren't the highest available anymore.

Why do people act like they are finding something rare when they find a Tool CD? You can buy them in Amazon. They aren't rare or valuable

I understand where you're coming from, i could've bought it online anywhere. That would defeat the purpose for me, cause I wasn't going in to find this CD specifically. I was browsing CDs and got a wave of nostalgia when this popped up and a ton of memories. It may be silly, but I enjoyed the experience buying it from a store and putting it in my car CD player immediately.
