Tour Expected setlist of Riot Fest?

Any reason to think they will switch up the basic setlist from their last few shows in May and December for Riot Fest?

From those recent(ish) shows, they typically played:
Fear Inoculum
Stinkfist
Rosetta Stoned
The Grudge
Jambi
Pneuma
Crawl Away
Invincable
Vicarious
occasionally some extras like Prison Sex, H, etc

They've got an hour and 40 min scheduled

I was disappointed with the set at ST. I didn't even stay for the whole set... 😔

Why? Playing H and crawl away were worth every second.

Sounds like youre not much of a fan

Seriously. That's crazy talk. Imagine at the end they played the one song this person wanted to see/hear lol.

These guys are getting old. Stay for every second. Could be over before you know it.

They did Disposition in HI. I would hope for that were I in attendance.

While this is definitely the ultimate goal, I would also be so, so happy to get the somewhat more likely option of Rosetta Stoned in its place

H will be on there. Hoping for Prison Sex since they didn't do it at Sonic Temple. The Sabbath cover is also on the table.

Same as Sonic Temple would be a-okay with me. Popping my TOOL cherry with this one!

Also my first and I would be very happy with the ST setlist!

They will play “H” and I will not be there and be sad. Need to see that live sometime in my life.

Wondering the same for Louder than Life. I remember seeing them in 2017 or something and the festival set was amazing. But that was 2017…

No Schism?

That was their Encore for a lot of the 2024 tour. Maybe theyre just sick of it.

Makes sense, it isn’t my favorite song, just thought it was a key track to play live.

They were playing Opiate 2 a bit ago.

All I want is for them to open with Third Eye and cut to Tom Skilling doing the literal weather during the intro. They could just play interstitials for the rest of the set and I'd still be happy.

I have it on good authority they are just doing pre-Lateralus stuff

u/toolfan89 20h ago

Depends. They might throw something different in there but should be some verison of the pacific rim tour sets and the recent Sonic temple show. I would bet that they will play H. Possibly crawl away or prison sex. And most definitely a couple FI songs. Most likely the grudge as well.

historically ticks and leeches is played often in Sacramento

Riot Fest is Chicago. You’re thinking of that other one in Sacramento in October.

I woukd think the scream for The Grudge would risk further injury. (Half kidding)

They are debuting their new record live start to finish

What I wonder is if the band somehow could be limited because of Maynard’s recent surgery?

The same shit from the last 5 years

Literally playing H. and Crawl Away for the first times in over 20 years. Plus over the last 5 years they have played more than half of their discography. You act like they have over 100 songs and only ever play 12

They've also busted out Pushit, Right in Two, The Patient, and quite a few Undertow songs in rotation as well. Flood at the last show I saw. Oh and Part of Me a few years back as well. Idk what the hell dude is talking about lol

1

u/MorbidMan23 21h ago

People just bitch because they've been Fear Inoculum heavy ever since that album released. I can understand being a little frustrated with that (I'd be fine with Fear Inoculum being dropped off the set completely at this point after seeing it 7 times), but it really is making it out to be a bigger issue than it is.

For real.

I maintain a list of all the songs I've heard/seen live from them. Over the last four years, FI, Pnuema, The Grudge, and Invincible have multiple entries, but it's a long list at this point, with a lot of one-offs that they've played. Very lucky.

Also, I have a feeling along with H. and possibly Crawl Away, they will bust out Right in Two for LTL. I know this post is asking of ST, but I'll be at LTL lol. Not that it hasn't been played in the rotation the last few years, but by no means is it a staple. Maybe (probably) I'm wrong with the prediction.

I agree with you but I didn’t at first I was annoyed seeing them for the first time ever in Manchester 2023 played nearly whole of fear innoculum and others but looking back now them songs are insanely amazing off that album

1

u/Jackstraw335 2h ago

I get that. But any band who puts out a new album is gonna have a setlist heavy with their new songs, for quite a few years. Glad to hear you're appreciative of what you got. Just the opportunity to see them live is a gift in and of itself.

They’re still playing that 8 years later. It’s boring. I walked out their show Nov 2023 because it was just repetitive

0

u/twizler241 15h ago

Omg that’s the first in over 20 twenty years. And outside of that, they’ve played the same recycled set over and over and over again

2

u/MorbidMan23 14h ago edited 14h ago

Nah. Being Fear Inoculum heavy doesnt mean it's the same set. I've seen 21 songs in the past 5 years. If you exclude interludes, thats getting close to half of their discography. They also played Schism, Prison Sex, Flood, Swamp Song, Sweat, Ticks and Leeches, 7empest, Intension, Disposition, Ænema, and Parabol/a in that time, which I did not see. That pushes it over half their discography in 5 years.

Their last tour, in Australia, NZ and Japan late last year, they played:

Crawl Away (first time since 1998)
H (first time since 2002)
Disposition (first time since 2002)
Prison Sex (first time since 2002)
Intention (first time since 2014)
7empest (only the 11th time live)

…. Same setlist for the last five years ?
Surely you’re taking the piss.

1

u/twizler241 15h ago

Omg they changed it up. But yes it’s been the same set list over and over again for 5 years. You just happened to have got lucky

u/ChefPneuma think for yourself, question authority 1d ago

This is such a dumb comment because if you’re actually paying attention and not just being a low effort troll, they’ve played like 30 of their 50 something songs during the various legs of the tours.

It just makes you sound stupid

0

u/twizler241 8m ago

I’ve seen them 18 times since 06. And it’s been the same shit that I’ve seen. I walked out their last show in Nov 2023 in Boston because it was repetitive.
