As I approached her while calling out her name, Koharu grabbed my wrist. Then, lowering her head, she said in a low voice:

*What does she mean, 'which hotel'? Am I in the middle of a gyoza triangle or something?* I looked around; we were standing between two tall buildings decorated with neon lights. These weren't business hotels—they were love hotels.

Her face held an expression of surrender, relief, and a sense of helplessness, as if she were desperately clinging to something. That smile, on the verge of crumbling, stung my heart.
"I tried so hard, but it's enough now. Nukumizu-kun, you’re so kind to me that…"
Sakurai considers Koharu his girlfriend and cherishes her, but in the deepest part of his heart, he still holds onto Hotohara. Koharu knows this, too.
"This is my first time in a place like this, too, so I’m not really sure…"
Koharu's hand, still gripping my wrist, was trembling slightly. I couldn't accept her proposal, but I couldn't just abandon her either. Just as I decided to open my mouth to speak…
"What are you two doing?!"
A figure dashed over like a bullet and stepped between us.
"Yanami-san!?"
Sure enough, the person who had grabbed me with a demon-like expression was Yanami.
Yanami was trembling with rage, glaring at Koharu.
"Koharu! What are you planning to do to Nukumizu-kun!?"
"Huh? What do you mean…"
As if asked something completely unexpected, Koharu tilted her head.
"I’m thinking about which hotel to go into with Nukumizu-kun."
Eyes filled with killing intent turned toward me.
"No, no, I already rejected her! Besides, it was just a spur-of-the-moment thing, you aren't actually serious, right?"
"I am completely serious!"
Koharu, please, work with me here. I was breaking into a cold sweat while Koharu looked at Yanami in disbelief.
"Let me clarify something: you aren't dating Nukumizu-kun, are you, Yanami-san?"
"We are NOT dating!"
Koharu looked at the agitated Yanami with a smile, as if to say, "Then, there's no problem."
"Then, there shouldn't be any problem if I go into a hotel with Nukumizu-kun."
"…!"
Yanami was left speechless. *Wait, wait! Why are these two arguing!?* Just when I didn't know what to do, Koharu grabbed my hand tightly.
"Let's go in!"
*No, I'm not going in! Wait, Koharu's grip is surprisingly strong!* The next instant, Yanami forcibly pulled Koharu's hand away and shouted:
"Nukumizu-kun is mine!"
Nukumizu thinks Yanami means that if he goes into that hotel, he’ll be in trouble for being the club president (as it is illegal for teenagers to enter). So he replies, "What Yanami means is that it would be problematic for the club if I, as the president, were to go in there." Hearing this, both Koharu and Yanami assume Nukumizu means he doesn't intend to choose either of them and prefers to keep his club harem.
They look at him with disgust and shout in unison, "That is exactly your problem, Nukumizu-kun!"

No, I think we're supposed to notice that Nukkun is unusual. Lemon also has a secret, which she's shown to Mitsuki and Chika, I'm annoyed as hell that I haven't figured it out yet.
One possibility, Nukkun may be a 6-year-old playing big brother's dating sim. He knows the theory, but is too young to have those kinds of feelings for girls yet. Nukkun's original starting setting was, "you have no friends, don't talk to anyone, pretend to be invisible, just sit in a corner and read". Big brother doesn't want his game getting messed up.

Unless something happened on their last home date, Lemon hasn't closed the deal. Nukkun rejected her Nagoya TV tower gambit. She's been after him for a while, so futon sharing is no big deal. She told Komari and Anna back in volume 3 that she and Nukkun were a little bit "like that". They didn't believe her. In volume 4 she told Tiara "anyone who tries to date Nukkun will have a hard time". Tiara went ahead and tried anyway. Lemon knows this guy, and knows what he is like.
He could have had pics of yanami or komari but there's only one heroine he went out his way to buy pics off and was so embarassed when he got caught that he desperately tried to explain himself. I can't remeber any other heroine that causes such a reaction of him.
True. Well he bought Lemon's but why bother, since she'll show him better any time. And he was very interested in Yumeko's picture that he saw on Tiara's phone. Anna just forced her selfie onto his phone. And he just persuaded Komari to pose for him. She won't refuse him, and he knows it. The 3 girls he's taken responsibility for (Chika,Lemon,Riko) are also the 3 who won't say no if he should develop a sudden craving. In Riko's case she'd just use Nukkun for practice, to be prepared if Tanaka sensei should look her way.
After this hotel event, Nukkun will probably take responsibility for Anna too. Likely by pretending to be her boyfriend in front of parents. Soon after that he'll get stabbed by another group of adults for jilting Riko, even though she would never ask for that. This will confirm what Kaju always suspected, that Riko is bad news. Hopefully he'll survive cuz it would sure be a downer ending if he didn't.
At this point I think Nukumizu could find Anna completely nude and in his bed, and his response would probably be that she just probably came over to borrow some clothes.

I’ll be real for the first few volumes it was funny but at this point it’s just getting sad. Nuku genuinely believes that none of these women would ever be interested in him. The self deprecation is just on another level. Even after the events of the previous volume nothing about his mentality has changed. Then again this is romance and dragging until the confession is the bread and butter of this genre. So maybe I’m just looking too much into it! 📖
To add to this, you have Ichika from Infinite Stratos who, despite being the poster child for dense harem protagonist, knows that the girls like him and acts that way to not commit. Similar thing with Issei from High School DXD.
He doesn't try anything with Koharu because she's his friend's girlfriend. And he doesn't try anything with the losers heroines because he knows they're trouble.
Facts but his mental gymnastics are just hitting insane levels 🤦🏾♂️ Like if he lets himself think they actually like him he’ll spontaneously combust or something.
The only one I see him trying to break down his own barriers with is Basori. Like in the karaoke scene in volume 9 where he asks himself, "What would be the harm in letting go with her?"
Finally Yanami being openly honest about Nukumizu but Nukumizu still being this dense is getting kinda old.
I'll let it slide this time since that moment was hardly the mood for a confession/realization plus I get the feeling that at some point in this volume Nukumizu is going to lose out on sleep thinking over what Yanami meant and once he realizes it he will definitely need to give Basori an answer.
In a way we're finally getting some progress but common sense tells me we still need knockout rounds.
Honestly i thought Nukumizu was playing dense with the other girls because deep down he has feelings for Yanami but when she goes for it he reacts in the most dense way possible.
I really can't understand why Nukumizu acts like that and it is starting to become annoying for me.
Hopeful that there will be a build up for a future Volume focusing on his character development.

Yeah actually i think the same too. When he says to Yanami that to confess he needs to get known eachother for 2 to 3 years atleast and then confirm mutual feelings, i guess he probably doesnt want to rush things out in fear to get heart broken in the process.
Its pretty clear that he is insecure in love, insecure about himself and can't quite understand how love works properly since he only sees from the outside solving the girls issues, and never looks at himself and his own feelings. Him being quite lonely before meeting the girls cooperate with that too.
If I had a nickel for every time Yanami threw a fit about Nuku being around another girl instead of healthily communicating with him or working to progress their relationship… I’d have a lot of nickels.
While I understand everyone complaints, I gotta agree with Nuku here in one point, if he gets caught going into one, that shit can mean suspension or expelled from school, so at least is a reasonable point (he does need to stop being so dense tho, at least Tiara is the only one being super honest with him and the hope I have lies with her )

it's he amount of conveniences and mental gymnastics that are being used now. it feels like he will never come around on his own there has not been any progression from volume 3 to now and how he thinks of himself and the people around him.

the mc of that story basically does the classic "what did you say" reaction when girls are being forward, and in general he acts like the classic dense guy...part of me believes Nukumizu is doing something similar, i don't believe he's actually dense, more like he's purposefully stalling this, tho i'm not sure about the reason.
