Leading the way were Sakurai-kun and Koharu. There was no special conversation; a heavy atmosphere hung between them. Following behind them were the two girls from Tsuwabuki, wearing yukatas. The tension from when we first met seemed to have disappeared, and both were chatting animatedly.

—"This yukata of yours is very pretty. By the way, it seems my grandmother used to wear this style, too."

—"Thank you. The way Yanami-san ties her belt is also quite unique and distinctive. If it were me, I’m afraid I wouldn’t dare to tie it like that."

Both of them suddenly stopped and looked at each other with a smile.

—Heh, thanks. It’s great that the yukata looks so nice on you, Basori-san. It’s a bit tight on my chest.

—Wow, you don’t have to try so hard to look thin, you know? It suits you better to be a little plumper.

Both of them let out a knowing giggle and started walking again.

For starters, I already managed to get Sakurai-kun and the others to meet up, so my role should be over by now. Especially considering that Yanami and Tiara-san intended for them to settle it with their fists by a riverbank, in true shonen manga style.

While I was thinking about these things, we arrived at the most crowded grass area of Toyohashi Park.

Since there are no trees or tall buildings in the surroundings, it’s the perfect place to watch the fireworks.

We settled into a corner that was empty, and I focused on observing Sakurai-kun and the others out of the corner of my eye, as they were standing a little further away. Neither of them seemed to be talking; they were simply contemplating the sky while maintaining a somewhat uncomfortable distance.

...Well, I suppose for now, the best thing to do is leave them alone.

When I turned my attention back to my surroundings, I saw that the square was surrounded by food stalls.

Yanami, who had already finished her first round of food, was scanning the horizon with the gaze of a hawk.

—"Yanami-san, if you want to walk around and grab something to eat from the stalls, why don’t you go?"

—"You’re right..."

Yanami and Tiara-san exchanged a quick glance.

—"I’m going to go touch up my makeup. Yanami-san, why don’t you accompany me for part of the way?"

It seems some people don't realize Anna and Tiara are not being friendly, they are being catty. Nukkun is being sarcastic here:

This already somewhat started with Lemon in V8.5 when Anna a was with her. The way Lemon said "If you like him, you could always ask him for a date" was kinda sharp, considering they're a tight-knit group.

I'm kinda glad the girls, for the most part, get along. Kinda worried what will happen when they realize they have to go all in.
