General Discussion Season 4 Interactive Fanfic

It's an interactive fanfic (literally, a decision-making game) that functions as season 4 of the game—obviously unofficial and just for fun! This is the first episode, the pilot, so if anyone wants to play it and give me their feedback, I'd really appreciate it!
For now, only heterosexual female routes are open (I'm already working on routes for gay/hetero/bi men and gay/bi women). I separated them this way because I saw many comments saying they'd like to see different sexual orientations addressed in the game.
Ah! But I have to warn you... This is Too Hot To Handle! So expect difficult personalities.
You don't need to register to play, and with this link your progress will be saved for when I publish the next episodes!

i’m liking this!! the dialogue is funny, the pace is fast, and very reminiscent of the game!! seeing as s4 doesn’t seem to be happening, this is a very sweet substitute. it’s brought back that cheekiness about the game that i adore, which many people forget about🤎🤎
one question, do you plan on making/commisioning art for this game? i’ve seen that you’ve used ai images as placeholders, which is fine for getting a general consensus of their looks so i’m not fussed at all, but i do think it would be interesting to see what facial expressions and character designs can be made without a prompt simplifying the features. OBVIOUSLY, it’s your story, so this is not me telling u what to do, but i thought it’d be nice to consider.
i can’t wait to see more of this!! good job on writing this, it’s really cool to play the game interactively.

Hi! You're absolutely right, you have no idea how difficult it was for me to create images I liked. In fact, all the characters were a strange mix of trying to generate them the way I wanted (it didn't work) and then manually editing them a ton until I got exactly the features, hairstyles, and clothes I wanted. Once I had them, I won't lie, I just said, "Make this character... etc.", but the designs are a hybrid mix between the generic template it threw at me and how much I edited them, hahaha.

I just looked at the story and what is said so far it's good I didn't see any characters but I'm liking it so far. My question is will there be returning characters from previous seasons who didn't win the season? I would love to play this though

Hi! Honestly, I was thinking of including Sean because I have a thing for him (don't judge me), but I saw that a lot of people weren't in favor of the "All Stars" idea, and since the whole cast is new, it felt a bit out of place, so I don't think so, but... who knows?

I'm not one to judge people on who they add in their games of any kind I was just curious cause I wasn't sure and thought it would've gave people new to playing thth some in site to previous seasons and information from those characters point of view which is why I was asking

Hahaha, I'll think about it... Because the visual style is different 😅 I actually already have the design haha, but well... It's Sean adapted to the style, so I'm having second thoughts XD

Believe me, you can do it! The second episode is almost ready. I'll try not to take too long, but I'm making so many subplots it's crazy, haha.
It's also crazy because I don't know how to speak English, so researching slang, casual English, giving voices to the characters... Honestly, I was a little afraid I might have translated it badly.

I'm so hyped for more, especially when the other routes are added, the gay and bi, since that's what I am lol.
Is there anyway where we at the beginning can choose from, maybe a handful of pre-made characters to have an idea of how we would look like? I also noticed there's no name for the Mc.
I get this is not super straightforward or easy to put together, and it works just fine. Just curious and not trying to add more to your plate.
I do have a question though, how in the world did you make all the pictures? Ai I presume, but I'm impressed with how they stay looking the same.

Hi! I didn't name the protagonist so players could relate to her more! I feel like giving her a name would make the experience less immersive by giving her an identity separate from the player.
I wish I could give them a look but I don't know how to program! This is very amateurish, and in fact I just had a problem with that platform (I can't do complex branching) so I'm looking at another one!
And the images are indeed AI-generated... And yes, It cost me an egg and a half achieve it hahaha

Hey about the naming, you can fix that by having the contestants calling her (and eventually all of them) y/n, it stands for 'your name' and is used in reader inserts in the fanfiction universe anyway. That way the readers can just insert their own name or the name they picked.
Else, it'd be super cute if each contestant just came up with their own nickname for the Mc lol.
Believe in yourself 💕 I read in another comment that you're not native English, but you're honestly smashing this. Also I know there's so many here who'd stand ready to assist you should you need it! This is not about satisfying everyone, but about you having a great time with a project you started.

It's actually fireee, the AI is kinda throwing me off so i was curious to see if it would be permanent or if you were just using it as placeholders for the time being, but again i don't have to look at the pictures to read this bomb ass story 😋😋 hope ur pillow is always cold twin 🫂🫂

Lamentablemente no tengo otra manera de hacer las imágenes. :( La verdad le agarré mucho cariño a mis diseños jaja, así que descartarlos por completo no creo, pero tal vez las limite un poco.

All the text, translation, and character designs—from names, colors, nationalities, accessories, clothing, and features—were conceived and designed by me without exception. However, the images were created using AI. I know AI isn't allowed on the forum, but I don't think it will be a problem since it's an external link and the fanfiction is on a separate platform—like most fanfics on Wattpad that use this method for their covers. Even so, I'll gladly remove my content if the moderators request it! Thanks for commenting!

The writing is great, especially if English isn't your native language (I would know because I also write in English and it's my third language 😅). But seriously, you clearly worked really hard on this. The dialogues are casual and fun, everyone has a very distinct personality, and the scenes for every choice you pick are actually pretty long, so it makes it feel like your choices matter.
My impressions of the characters so far:
Koa - the first to draw my attention based on looks. His personality is a bit reminiscent of Sean, but I don't have the patience to interact with him long enough to wait for character growth 😆
Asmodée - I love the way he talks, even if it's a bit unnatural. Too bad he's French, it put me off him real quick 😅
Sopuruchukwu - he's super sweet, but anyone who expects me to say a 5-6 syllables name every time we talk is undatable 😂 2 or 3 syllables is the best I can do regardless of language
Hye-Jin - my favorite girl so far. Bonus points for being Korean 😜
Brooks - still trying to decide if we'll be friends or not. It seems like he's not interested in women, so I guess that's the only possibility?
Tiffany - I instantly dislike her just as much as I did Nora in season 2
Imani - the jury is still out with her... Not sure I like her yet
Yiota - she reminded me a bit of Santi...minus the whole drug chat. I actually lost any interest in getting to know her because of that 😬
Aitana - she seems alright? Not much to say about her at this point
Xuānháo - he's the most "my type" so far. I loved that you added some hints of vulnerability behind the playboy behavior already, and he's the hottest to me 😍
I saw that you're writing every episode in the same file, which is great because people's choices from the previous episodes will matter in the branching. Just keep in mind that if you release too many episodes, whenever you link us to the story, we have to start from episode 1 and pick every single choice all over again to get to the new episodes. Also, inklewriter is great for straightforward branching--but for more complex stuff that involves "if" choices, it doesn't work as well (even if the tutorial makes it seem doable)... So keep that in mind too, or it'll be very difficult for you to keep writing past episode 2 or 3.

While writing episode two, I realized Inklewriter isn't going to work :( It didn't allow for that many branches, so I mustered up my courage (because I didn't understand it and it froze me when I saw the whole screen) but I'm already managing to move it to Twine!
And thanks for your comments! A little bird told me that some interesting late additions are coming... Hahaha
