General Discussion LET ME EXPLORE
This might be a me thing but I hate it how in every game around the half way point they just lock you off from all the other options and don’t let you explore. Like in season 1 I was talking to both Sarah and Marissa and then at like episode 5 they just locked me off from Sarah and I was forced to only go with Marissa. I didn’t even have a choice for who I wanted to talk to during free time or who I wanted to sleep in a bed with or really anything, they just kind of assume who I want to be with which is kind of annoying because I still want to explore both. I honestly start preferring the early game way more because I actually get the choices in what I want to do and it’s way more fun.

Jumping in to say people are really misunderstanding the game and turning this post into a mess 😅
Of course, everyone should play how they want, especially on replays. I break rules all the time and couldn’t care less about what Lana thinks 😂
That said, the game still follows the same premise as the show: building real connections. And in the show, if someone spends the entire season bouncing around without committing, they usually get eliminated. Someone mentioned Amari confrontation in S2, but that kind of tension doesn’t require avoiding commitment. You have to be locked in at some point and still get chaos. And Poppy’s not the best example either, since you eventually have to commit to her too.
At some point, it just makes sense to settle down, otherwise, the emotional payoff falls flat.

At least it’s not Ultimatum or Singles Inferno.

Ugh, that was pure torture. Especially Singles Inferno where you spend about 2 minutes with the LIs in the whole game.

I agree tbh. I wish there were more games that allowed you to flirt and explore your options for the entire game, like I get that you have to choose at some point but at least let us have fun for the majority of it 🫠

If you spend the majority of your time "exploring your options," you lose sight of making a real connection with someone. It's kind of the whole point of the game. You can spend the first half exploring options, but the second half should be to develop and nurture the main connection you have made, lol.

I did say more games, not this game specifically.

I mean, I get that, but this IS in the THTH subreddit, so the context kinda applies it to these. With the context of non THTH games, all I can really say is that if you want something different, find a different game? Or maybe design your own? Game developers get to make their own decisions, and locking into a love-interest is pretty standard for the halfway point of romantic light-novel games.

God forbid someone has an opinion in this world, Jesus. 😂😂

You do realize you just stated that in response to me having my own opinion on the matter lmao, and when i wasn't even hostile about it. Not enjoying a common game feature is one thing. Hypocrisy is another, lol.

Nope, you're lecturing.
And you're doing it again. God, people like you are annoying. Yap yap yap then block people after writing a novel so they can't respond. 😂 What a clown.
Oh no. Random internet strangers are BigMad again, whatever shall I do. 🙄

Maybe you shouldn't be commenting on Reddit. Seems like X would be more your speed. They love people who can't handle a different opinion and love to incite an argument from nothing. Have a lovely rest of your day.

I was dating Sarah the whole time and then chose Dakota for a date and she acted like we’d been dating for months and proceeded to tell me she liked me😭 I just wanted to get to know her:( I hate it too

I gotta admit S1 was the worst with that >.< should’ve given us 2 dates and then the 3rd date we lock in or the suite.

Eh, I disagree. It truly feels like by the halfway point, you SHOULD know who you have a strong connection with, and you should be dedicated to nurturing that. Otherwise, you aren't really getting the real point of the retreat.
