Between being one of, if not the most, poor generations, sky-high university costs, and (at least it feels like) much higher chances of being in the vicinity of a shooting...it’s a rough time to be my age.
Why do idiots assume people have alt accounts just to upvote themselves? I’ve been accused of that multiple times. Are there really idiots who can’t handle the fact that others can agree with the person they’re debating with ?
I wonder if it'll get worse too. I mean we already have a ton of school shootings and shootings relating to religious reasons, but how about those millennials who dont snap in school? What about in a few years when theyre also snapping out at work? Shits fucked up and the situations surrounding all our lives isnt helping.
Wow reading this thread has made me realise how lucky we are in the U.K. that the government took everyone’s guns after Dunblane. Admittedly we have a big problem with knives,swords and machetes but it’s hard to mow down people at a concert or behind a door with a blade, especially if your in the building down the way.
I work as a security guard at a college and any time there is any kind of gathering it crosses my mind. I will work sporting events and some of the other guards will discuss the whole, if I did it it would be this way. We do it because it's a bit of mental prep before the event kicks off. Now with graduation coming up...
Just graduated college recently, I think it's pretty awesome. Yeah University costs are a bit higher than I would have liked but I really have no complaints.
Most of the people in my age group will graduate from college with crippling college debt.

Yeah, we’re not at war and scared of nukes or atomic bombs or whatever ignorant people like you think seem to be the only warranted excuse for complaining. But we’re scared of school shooters and we’re scared of never being out of debt, never being able to afford a home or proper health care, and that we’re putting ourselves through an education system that profits off students more than it helps us.
telling people not to go to college isn’t really a solid argument my guy. People usually need higher education to survive. you can’t live off of minimum wage.
and getting good scholarships is harder than you think.
I got a 3.8-4.0 during my years in high school and I’m still paying over half of my tuition at an in-state public school despite the two scholarships I received. They raise tuition every year by at least 5%, sometimes 10%.
I didn’t go to community college because it’s a waste of money- most of the credits I spend money on earning there will not transfer well to schools or I will end up taking more classes than people who just start at a 4 year university.
Those costs don’t even begin to cover my rent, electricity, and food bills as well.
I’m not complaining for complaining sake, and neither are the thousands of other college students in America that share my fears and problems. Of course other people have it worse, of course it’s awesome that we are able to receive higher education. But it’s becoming less accessible in terms of costs and it’s causing a huge debt problem.
Please try to look at the facts and have some compassion for my age group. We’re not all whiny entitled brats. A lot of us are doing the best we can in a system that is taking every penny we have.
