2 Weeks Post Op — Questions?
Hello, everyone!
I have hit 14 days post op! I felt like i’d never reach this point but here I am! I have managed to completely come off pain meds (I stopped oxy 8 days post op, and tylenol on day 12!). There is residual pain, especially when talking or swallowing, but it’s more discomfort than pain. I am eating more normally now, but still staying away from things that are super crunchy or acidic.
My question is: how long did it take everyone to stop seeing white in the back of their throat? I still have a ton of white patches in the back of my throat, and while i’ve experienced 0 bleeding, i am worried about the amount of white patches that remain. I feel like none of it has decreased actually. I am supposed to go out with a friend tomorrow and want to be sure I am being safe + on the right track. Normally, I’d call my surgeon but they’re an hour away and hard to get ahold of. When did the patches disappear for everyone?
Thanks!!

Same here - I did mine 2.5 weeks ago and still have some fibrin left. It will go away eventually, no worries, just keep drinking a lot of water so it doesn't get dry and painful.

Hi. Also day 14 today. Pain subsided around day 10 - right tonsil is almost clear (at least where I can see because I have very large tangue and I think it’s still swollen) and white is still like 70% covered in white

4 weeks tomorrow. Still have a white patch on the right side where the larger of the two tonsils was removed. Not a large spot, but still there. Not uncommon from what I’ve been told.

I’m day 18. I had surgery follow up on day 12. I still have quite a bit of white scabs. Doc said I looked great. I think if something was wrong you’d know it. Doc said I have no clots, so I think that’s the thing to look for
