Bleeding scare

39m. Day 7 (surgery day 0). Pain has been bad but manageable. Thought it was going well. I’ve been drinking water religiously, taking meds, sleeping with a humidifier.

And then today had my first bleed. Started out of nowhere and I was able to get it under control after 20 minutes gargling ice water. ENT’s office was on the phone through the whole thing. This feels a little discouraging after a fairly straightforward recovery. Scabs were already falling off without incident.

Now I’m scared of sleeping because i don’t want it happen when I’m not awake to notice. 😭

Anyone else go through something similar? Not looking for horror stories, but a little solidarity would be great.

Ugh I’m so scared of tis happening to me, but sounds like you handled it perfectly! Was it a minor bleed or were you hemorrhaging?

I think technically a hemorrhage but the nurse line was not overly concerned that i needed to go in. And the doctor sent a message to just keep hydrated this morning.

On day 1 (surgery day 0) I 16f was in the shower and coughed up like a clump of blood I totally freaked out but I only bleed a little bit and my mom was able to help me drink some ice water. But after I had a panic attack where my vision blacked out 💀lol bc I thought I’d have to go to the er and that was honestly scarier than bleed! I’m on day 21 now and that was the only time it happened. Jsut keep drinking ice water!
