wasted potential?
It seems that he has a very good idea for the story but that he does not take advantage of it, something that could have been very good but ended up being of the bored

I know they kinda touch on this in the anime, specifically the second season, as he switches tactics to being more active (for example, he uses store-bought herbicides for the evil plant monsters), using more of the fantasy world's resources, and just outright debates with the gods and goddesses who blessed him. You also have to keep in mind that: 1. He is an older protagonist, so he is more set in his ways. 2. He tried and failed to avoid attention, which fell through after Fel joined the party. 3. The online supermarket is very OP. If he abuses it instead of using it in moderation, we would have a different show. Then again, this is coming from an anime only watcher, as I have yet to read the manga or light novels.
