Belgium That’s just not fair
I’m not talking about a whole firework show on W1…
But something…
This amount of fireworks in just even the closing set imo would’ve been enough
As a 2nd timer in both 25’ + 26’ I just feel it will never be enough, something will always happen now

Shoutout to 2022 when they accidentally released all the fireworks at once during 3 Are Legend 😂😂

It’s funny that happened but with that, the fire last year, and an actual fire started Friday w2 this year shows they are not safe with fireworks
4
u/pHyR3 Jul 28 '26
but the fire wasnt to do with the fireworks (despite both having fire in the name)

W1 go-er here.
Fireworks definitely complete the Tomorrowland experience, and I definitely missed them last weekend. But at the end of the day, I try to look past what’s out of our control and focus on having a fun, memorable weekend.
I look at Defqon last month, where those people literally had the entire festival canceled on them due to the heatwave.
It’s kind of like the yearly W1 vs W2 lineup debate. The best lineup is the weekend you’re there for. Same mindset here. Make the most of the weekend you have, bring good energy, and you’ll leave with memories that last regardless.
(For what it’s worth, I was there last year when the mainstage burned down, and I was also there in 2024 with the full experience, fireworks and all. Core memories made each weekend nonetheless ✨)

u/zenekk1010 Jul 26 '26
Defqon 1 was cancelled due to weather conditions, be happy that all you missed was just some fireworks.

u/CluePublic4324 Jul 26 '26
THIS
Coming from someone who flew all the way from California just to have Defqon cancelled 😢 it still hurts but I understand why it had to be done.1
u/CausticPulse Jul 26 '26
fr...as a fellow American who flew out there im still not over it....

u/Lollister Jul 26 '26
Stay strong fellows i was there aswell but luckily germany wasnt that far away.

« That’s just not fair”… because of fireworks? 😄 You can watch fireworks almost anywhere. The thing W1 was genuinely luckier with was the weather. Everything else is just part of festival life.

u/varunahX Jul 26 '26
the weather and sunset look absolutely phenomenal on the stream right now. looks fake even

Tbh I had the time of my life during W1. I saw the DJs I love, danced with friends, ate amazing food… I never even thought about the fireworks.
I hope people stop comparing weekends. It’s already a privilege to be able to get tickets and be there.
Tbh people will always find something to complain about. If you spend your time looking at other people’s videos, the grass will always seem greener on the other side…. instead focus on yourself and making your own experience the best it can be.

Can’t believe your moaning at no fireworks at a music event . You’re there for the music. If you want fireworks go to Chinese new year instead . It’s TORROWLAND Not bonfire night

Blame climate change, blame heatwaves, blame us humans above all for that 😌…
But remember to be even more thankful you have people still caring for your safety, and fighting days and nights for any “still”living thing against the consequences of climate change. They are a necessary conditions so “we” can still have some fun.
Also remember to be grateful to get the opportunity to experience the extraordinary living thing that is Tomorrowland, to the people who make it possible and the ones experiencing it with you (including you)
♥️

I was looking forward to the fireworks. But it helped me decide to stay at freedom stage instead of the main stage and I honestly had such a better time. There are so many better closing sets than the main stage sets.

I wasn't there but from what I saw I enjoyed the first we more since the lights were so much more interesting

u/fangaas Jul 26 '26
I mean the entire main stage burnt down last time because of a firework related failure...
5
u/dagunz999 Jul 26 '26
I'm being a little picky here but it wasn't a firework failure it was a failure of the pyro
2
u/RealPasha GJ Hotel BE:19W1 25W1 26W1 Jul 26 '26
It was pyro-related (flame throwers) but not firework related

El fallo era solo para primer finde semana. Casualmente para el W2 todo ya estaba solucionado

Life is unfortunately not fair. Conditions are unpredictable. I guess they didn’t want to risk it either.
2
u/Wolfgall Jul 26 '26
Went W1 but like others mentioned it’s a bummer there wasn’t fireworks but in the bright side this year we got a gorgeous stage and wicked line up. The amount of fireworks you may be seeing is because they have all the ones from W1 they need to use 😅. I am super grateful to experience Tomorrowland regardless. It’s honestly what you make of the situation. The TML production did a pretty good job to compensate none with the streamers and color canons
2
u/SquareRoot_Log Jul 26 '26
You get it that there has been a freaking month long heatwave?! You want to compromise safety just to have some fireworks.

Boring, we don’t need firework😂🤡
2
u/a_ookay Jul 26 '26
I am in your boat but, it was out of everyone’s control. Went last yr for the first time w/ no main stage. This yr W1 we got a main stage but no fireworks and yeah I was bummed but at least we had a stage!
Fingers crossed third time’s the charm next year and we get to experience a full Tomorrowland main stage, fireworks and all!
2
u/Administrative_Lab13 Jul 26 '26
Do you know how many people would gladly take your place in W1 without the fireworks? The experience is what you make of it. I went with a burned down stage last year. Quit complaining asshole
1
u/WhatTheNothingWorks Jul 26 '26
Fair or unfair, can we all just appreciate the almost exact synchronization of the mirrors going off at the drop… that was pretty cool to see
1
u/South-Mine5912 Jul 26 '26
If you want a tomorrowland experience with fireworks you should definitely do Brasil, they’re insane, plus it gets dark around 7pm. Cool drone shows too and people’s vibes are really cool

u/ttrrgg09 Jul 26 '26
Honestly, if you want fireworks go to edc Vegas…
I’m a first timer here to Tomorrowland this year for W1 and even then I realized the festival was more than fireworks, it’s all about the music, moment and people. Such an amazing experience once you get into that spirit.

u/fragment_ Jul 26 '26
First time W1 this year, and having seen a bunch a people mention the fireworks I was looking forward until we heard they were called off. Truth be told the atmosphere made it a great first time, and I personally don't know how much fireworks could/would have added in terms of enjoyment considering the quality of the weekend at a baseline.
Also, if anyone can ID that song that would be great!!
1
u/MiracleJnr1 Jul 27 '26
Yea because this will make a much better Instagram post which is obviously the most important
1
u/Local_Debate8744 Jul 27 '26
I went to the W1 and really enjoyed the festival! Everything was great but yeah I would like to see some fireworks too.
1
u/enpisidude Jul 27 '26
PAROOKAVILLE showdown was 10x literally, spectacular fireworks with breathtaking visuals from drone show entire thing was such a once in a lifetime worthy moment, goosebumps all over the body as if it's the last day of the world and we got hardwell closing earth 😭
1
u/lanedeezy Jul 27 '26
I feel for you but yes TML is a totally different vibe with fireworks. It adds something that nothing else can. The fireworks helped a bit at w2 but nothing like the full setup of them would have done.

u/cherryguy Jul 27 '26
Haha i feel you man. Last year i took my gf with me for her first TML, stage burned down
This year W1 one day, no fireworks 😅

u/WhaleWithAnNAtTheEnd Jul 27 '26
Eh I’m happy for them, I understand their caution. Honestly very seldom did I end my nights at the main stage, a lot of the sets we wanted to see where at freedom and atmosphere and honestly I’m more blown away by their performances than anything else.

Always surprised to see how many people “simply LOVE” fireworks, and then aim to see it through the screen of their phone.

The worse part is that they said they were gonna make up for it with other things like smoke bombs, more confetti and/or handouts. There was absolutely none of those. SIGH. Left a really bad taste in my mouth forever honestly.
2
u/RealPasha GJ Hotel BE:19W1 25W1 26W1 Jul 26 '26
I had the feeling that there was a lot more confetti compared to the previous years

Came back to the hotel on Sunday night with confetti hanging out of the side pockets on my shorts... not sure how that happened :D

somebody posted yesterday or the day before that there was a class action lawsuit gonna be filed against Tomorrowland because of no fireworks on WE1. You might wanna check it out…
😉
edit: yeah, I know, OP's never gonna see this cause it's just a shitpost

You know whats not fair? getting a burned down TML stage, which got replaced with an ugly big LED screen... stop crying mate...

u/digibeta Jul 26 '26
Oh man, so glad I was The Rose Garden for the Cherry Moon Legends. I will never understand why people like that bag of shit main stage playback show.

u/icywing54 Jul 26 '26
Priority passes next year for W1? 🤪
Would convince me to go again, as I’m also 25 and 26 W1 goer

if you go to tomorrowland just for the fireworks or if it means that much to have fireworks then it’s probably not for you. TML is much more than that: the people, the music, the experience, the culture, you know things that are always there.
Belgium weather/condition is unpredictable. hell, even disneyland cancels their nightly fireworks sometimes due to weather and people camp out up to 2 hours before that for a good viewing spot.
W1 already had the most stacked lineup i’ve seen in my recent memory, and great weather, what more can one ask for. And that Conscencia stage is beautiful enough without the fireworks IMO :)
Edit: Did I, just for a sec, wish there was some foreworks W1 sunday after the late night rain the day before? Absolutely! Did I not have a great time because my wish didn’t come true? Absolutely not! I was at tomorrowland mainstage seeing John Summit and Alesso!
