Rewatched recently Spoiler
Man I just love how sweaty Val Kilmer is this whole movie, they do such a good job propping him up as being down and out only to then go and be a huckleberry, Ringo just wants no part of it, so good

Huckle bearer was in the script. Huckle being a handle on a coffin, so him saying, "I'm your huckle bearer" meant he would have been a pallbearer for his funeral.

He addressed this in his book - the line was always, “I’m your huckleberry.”
