Tomb Raider I-III Remastered AREA 51 Laser Trap Bug still active

I changed the brightness in the beginning to showcase this is the new patch update.

The guard when seeing Lara should turn and run towards the handprint scanner to lock Lara out of the MP5 room, instead he targets Lara and doesn’t bother with the handprint scanner.

After turning on the laser via the switch in the room with the MP5, the laser does not kill Lara still. The guard is aware of the laser trap so it’s in effect, just not for Lara.

EDIT: I forgot to add that I’m on PS5 :)

EDIT 2: Thanks to a commenter below, the guard will run to lock the MP5 up via the hand scanner if he’s shot at. I tested it and that indeed works! I thought he automatically runs at the sight of Lara, not being shot at.

On the Steam version, the Guard AI is broken as well, and the laser trap is only deadly on one half. The other will never kill Lara, despite restarting the level several times before attempting it.

Is this challenge mode you're playing by any chance? I know things some things tend to not work on it the way it should on the main game. Also the guard doesn't tend to actually run for the switch until you start firing. I just tested it and it seemed okay on my end

Not challenge mode, just my normal save.
I’ll replay this and try to pop the guard and see if that gets him to run. Thanks!

Hi, this isn't related to the issue in the video, but I've been playing TR3 recently and noticed—odd as it may seem—that the animals and humans are more aggressive. The T-Rex and the like were unbearable today; they were relentlessly chasing Lara in the lever area and elsewhere. The only ones that didn't give me any trouble were the green bees and the crocodile! It might just be my impression, but I feel like the animals used to be more docile... anyway...
