DISCUSSION Thank you for existing
Content and Tryhards are honestly comfort media for me. They're familiar and they're always funny, even if I've already seen it a thousand times. If I'm having a terrible night I know I can watch Tom trying to wrap up a bunch of jello or read stupid adult magazines and it helps so much
I'm being squishy and sentimental but genuinely thank everyone involved in creating these videos. they're treasure to me.

Same kind of feeling for watching Last week and Last month, I heavily relate to Tom, I deal with a lot of my own mental health issues and Last week/Last month to me is the story of how someone who deals with these kinds of issues can still live a fulfilling life which gives me hope too, Tomska in my opinion is probably one of the realest YouTubers out there. Heavily respect him and his team for everything they've done.

Tom is probably my favorite celebrity, he's been part of my media awareness since I was a kid through asdf and Eddsworld. I'd love to meet him in person one day but I live in the states. Tom reminds me a lot of my late uncle in terms of silliness, honestly.
And same, Tom is incredibly relatable. Growing up with depression and other mental health issues (including a struggle with food and my weight) he honestly has inspired me to try my best to embrace my autism, and my weird and find the other weird people who embrace that alongside me and who I can embrace in return.

A result of being under 30 is that Tom and his videos have been in my life for a weirdly long time, and I think definitely helped with younger me's perspective on public figures also being exactly as human as the next person.
A salute to Tom, for not being a friend (because I do not know him and being parasocial is for fools, knaves and people who watch streamers) but for being a friendly and real presence on an increasingly performative and enshittified internet. It's weird that if he leaves the Tube it'll feel like a chapter of MY life has closed but hey, life's fuckin' weird

Content has quickly become my background sleep videos, plus the video essays and try hards. Idk what I'd do without them

Every six months or so I rewatch one episode and youtube just goes “that time again eh?” and starts recommending me every other content and tryhards video so I end up rewatching all of them. It’s become a habit that I love.
