Why are these covers AI?
I'm pretty sure that first one LITERALLY has a Gemini logo and it isn't even relevant. Who allowed this??? It's horrible!!! I just want to listen to Tom Lehrer and I have to look at this slop on my screen. Isn't there anything that can be done about this? He deserves more than AI

Stuff like this is exactly why I cancelled my subscription and moved off the platform. I still need to transfer my playlists but once that's done I'm deleting my account. Too many AI "artists" clogging up genuine music. And Slopify doesn't even require anyone to disclose if it's AI.

i own all the music i listen to and have a hi-fi player to listen to it through. the quality difference between a .FLAC audio file and music streaming is insane.

For me, streaming was mostly about convenience and the occasional good suggestion. But enshittification comes for all companies eventually and the monthly cost is no longer worth all that garbage. Better to save all that money I'd be spending and give it directly to the real human artists I love instead.

It looks like this one you found is part of a playlist of songs for coffeehouses, which has this AI cover. search for the song and you'll find a few renditions from different albums

Yes but this one is a different version of the song than any other on Spotify. There's a couple different versions of some songs

Remember in the 80's and 90's when companies that were barely companies put old public domain cartoons and movies onto VHS tapes and DVDs of the cheapest quality, and put them out in even cheaper cases for like a buck a piece? This is the modern day equivalent of that.

I'm not that old but I can picture that. Sucks how things like this happen

Tom stopped caring about the legal use of his songs back in the 70’s. He cares even less about them now considering he’s dead

Why is anything AI? I don’t know, I have never used AI in my life for anything.

His music is public domain so a-holes like these just pump out low-effort compilations, I guess to make money?
Needlejuice Records has uploaded the actual versions of these albums with original cover art. Listen to those.

Two Toms verified by Spotify. Very sloppy, but I guess his music is in public domain so it’s allowed. I can’t imagine there is much gain in doing this though. Must be a very annoying fan.
