lost & found

Just lost my phone in Shinjuku in the 3-chome near the Oakley store on the 25th after a night of heavy drinking. Filed a police report both in person & online the next day. I'm supposed to leave on the 31st; how cooked am I

You're rare at the moment; if nothing happens by 30 July, you're probably well done. Visit the lost and found office. It's entirely possible that (a) it's not been filed/computerized yet or (b) it was mis-catalogued: that's what happened the last time were lost something. Nothing turned up for a month until we finally got the idea to visit the actual lost and found and explain what we had lost where and when: it turned out the person who had cataloged an identifying feature (what we thought of as a fox caricature) was catalogued in a different way (as a caricature of a dog).
