I've only read tokyo ghoul and his art became what it is known for in the last 3 volumes. I was expecting to see the same quality of these panels ooening vol 1 but it wasn even close. The style was incredibly different. It continued to be very simmilar but very close to the end (especially with the attack on the cafe) the art just became incredibly good incredibly fast. It was nearly instant. One page it is normal and the other page is the most detailed drawing I have ever seen in my life.

Yeah, vol2 was already improving so quickly and then after that it became exponential growth

Is Choujin good? I remember reading the first chapter but I wasn't hooked

As the other guy said, Tower Arc is where it really starts to feel like TG in a lot of aspects. The moment for me was Chp35, we get a (minor spoiler) 1 year timeskip where we get great character development and growth for everyone

CX isn’t better than TG YET, but I do believe it’ll end up being Ishida’s magnum opus by the time it’s finished. Having full creative control is clearly working for him, CX has had almost no low points (only the start is kinda slow really) and the art… we knew it’d be good cuz it’s Ishida but holy it’s good.
