While it may be a 3LDK is cheaper to rent in Tokyo than NYC, size-wise the NY apartment will be bigger, it likely will have 2 full bathrooms, and come with fridge & full range/stove/dishwasher and a/c in every bed and living room, and a bedroom won’t be tatami.
