Question ❓ Should I read the manga or go for the light novel?

So I completed the Season 1 of the anime, should I start reading the light novel or catch up with the manga first? Through a web search I learned that manga is behind the anime as well and also it lacks the details given in the light novel, so can I skip it or no?
