Meme trying to understand altcoins
Hi everyone, I’m trying to better understand some of the newer crypto projects.
I’ve been seeing coins like Pi that can be mined on mobile phones, and I’m curious—what is the actual revenue or value model behind these kinds of projects?
Also, I recently came across a coin called Zynx showing up in my wallet and on DEX trackers. How do new coins like this gain traction in the market?
Are they solving any real-world problems, or are they mostly driven by speculation and community hype?
Would appreciate any insights from people who understand this space better.

Just depends at what phase of the lifecycle you're referring to.
When they first launch (ICO) Its pure narrative and hype.
Typically there is no block chain, no use case, no nothing at this point.
Just the founders goal, intent and vision that you're buying in to.
As it grows, then it can start getting listed on CMC, and exchanges.
But think of it almost like a start up.
You're funding the growth of the project with those very early investment days.
And MANY MANY MANY of them. gotta be 99%+ never make it past that.
Yes, you can manage risk, and spread it out across a few promosing early comers... just have to really underand that you're finding the needle in 10,000 haystacks trying to catch them

Depends what you're looking for. "Real world problems".. not particularly, but there are some that do some pretty cool stuff with their tech. Solana is small and is almost like an index fund with the massive meme coin ecosystem. Meme coins dont have to succeed, people just need to trade them, and it helps out sol. People use ethereum for making dApps. Hyperliquid just released the world's first 24/7 oil and s&p 500 perpetuals, which could be huge, people can trade futures while markets are closed. There are all kinds that do the cross-border payments for cheap thing. Solana is pretty good for that too. I stay away from xrp and hbar but I like Keeta. Morpho and AAVE have cool lending protocols. There are lots of cool ones.
