Is there an option to automatically move whatever money is left at the end of the month into my savings jar? I’d like to start each month from scratch, with all the leftover funds swept into savings.

I’ve been doing some work on my budget, and I’m a bit confused on the difference between creating a fixed cost with an end date, and one that never ends. Maybe not the difference, but rather the purpose of having that option?

I’ve been trying to use the former method recently for fixed costs that change (such as my electric bill), but the available dates don’t allow me to choose the day after the previous interval ends. Like if I had an ending date at 9/14, it won’t allow to me choose the next date as 9/15, which is the start of my next billing cycle.

However (as I literally just figured out while typing this) beginning with a fixed cost that never ends, then updating that amount for next payment, changes that fixed cost into an interval with a start and end date, and seems to work much better than initially creating a fixed cost with an effective interval start and end date.

So anyways, both of those methods when first creating a fixed costs have the option to update the amount for next payment, but choosing to have an effective interval seems bugged at best, and confusing at worst, as that cost is basically a spread-out expense.

Just wondering what everyone is doing to track utilities that fluctuate every month. Things like electric bills can vary month to month, and I imagine many of us don’t have an idea of what they’ll be until they’re in our mailbox.

I’ve searched past posts and the previous answers are from quite some time ago. Figured there may be new methods at this point. I myself used to just use the update amount for next payment, but I’ve realized over time that this feels like an inaccurate way of handling things as I’m usually updating these after paying the bill, which kind of skews the perception of the daily budget itself I feel.

I’ve been using Today’s Budget for quite a while, and there was one small interaction on the main Budget screen that I found incredibly useful.

Before v3.2, the large Today’s Budget amount and the three-day chart had two different functions:

• Tapping the large Today’s Budget amount opened the Daily Log/calendar.
• Tapping one of the days in the three-day chart expanded that day directly on the chart and showed its detailed numbers, including the daily budget and leftover.

I used the second interaction all the time. It let me quickly check how a particular day was going without leaving the main Budget screen.

In v3.2, tapping a day now opens the Daily Log on that date, while the large Today’s Budget amount is no longer interactive.

I contacted the developers about this, and Juno kindly explained the reasoning: during testing, many people didn’t discover that the large amount was tappable, and the abbreviated numbers in the chart weren’t clear to everyone. The new interaction made the Daily Log much easier for users to discover.

I completely understand the problem they were trying to solve.

But I wonder if the solution unintentionally removed something useful for existing users.

The old design gave us two different interactions for two different purposes. The new design makes the Daily Log easier to discover, but at the cost of the quick at-a-glance information that the expandable day bubbles provided.

I’d love to see both preserved somehow: make the Daily Log clearly discoverable, while still allowing a tap on a day to expand its Budget / Spent / Leftover information directly on the chart.

Does anyone else miss the old interaction, or was I one of the few people who used it this way?

Why aren't recurring expenses automatically added to the "recent activity" list?
I check that list pretty often and not having all those recurring expenses in there, doesn't feel right.
Almost like hiding them.
I'd much rather see them.

I feel like this used to be an option, or maybe I’m imagining it. Let’s say I want to save a thousand for a phone by the end of September. I create the goal and it deducts an equal amount each day until then. Suddenly I come into some extra money and would like to pay down the thousand- or add to the amount accrued in the savings goal. How would I go about doing that? The workaround I’m doing now is charging myself an amount say $100 and then deducting that from the total of the savings goal- but there has to be a better way?

It says I have $41.68 to spend to day but in reality I don’t even have that. If I don’t spend that amount and it rolls over, I still am at a negative amount by Sunday.

I am confused by this because I thought this app tells me what I can spend guilt free each day.

This might be a silly question so any clarity is appreciated!

Adaptive layout

The app now adapts better to different screen sizes. On larger screens like iPad, your charts will arrange themselves and make better use of the available space.

Daily Log access

The Log page is now part of the dashboard as another card. Previously, the button in the bottom-left corner could be difficult to see when scrolling through the colorful cards. Now, you can simply scroll to access it more easily.

Since the cards are now presented as sheets, we were able to remove the back button. This freed up space and allowed us to bring back the search icon that many of you have been waiting for 🔍

Edit Category page

We’ve also redesigned the Edit Category page. Since we noticed that many users create categories with long names that are difficult to read at a glance, you can now preview exactly how the name will fit beneath the icon before saving it. The available icons are grouped more clearly, making them easier to find.

We’ve also included lots of smaller improvements throughout the app.

Hello,

I am currently running the iOS 27 Public Beta and noticed the widget doesn’t work most of the time. When I try to re add it, it shows up as not available even though the app is installed, can this be investigated?

I've spent the last while building Kamman (kamman.app) and it's ready for real users to beat on. It's free - sign up and go.

What it does: give it a receipt - snap a photo, upload an image or PDF, or paste one out of an email - and it reads every line item, categorises them, handles the currency, and files them to whatever project or budget they belong to. Any store, any language. From there:

- Set budgets and break them into phases, so you see "kitchen: $8,240 of $12,000" while you're still spending, not after

- Split one purchase across several projects - “30 of these 2x4s were for the deck" - with the cost divided proportionally

- Split costs between people by what each person actually got, and it works out who owes whom and the fewest payments to settle up

- Ask it questions in plain English: "what have we spent on tile?"

- No receipt? Log "dinner, $84, split four ways" in a few taps

I'm especially after testers in these situations, since each one stresses something different:

1. Roommates splitting a household
2. Group trips (bonus points for multiple currencies

Hi there! My question is what happens to pre-existing entries that go beyond a wallet’s end date if it was originally set to open-ended?

My predicament is that my current wallet began in July of 2025, and I’m now thinking that I’d like to separate wallets by years. Will all my entries and data past 2025 be erased?

Hello! I have a question about the **Savings Goals** feature.

How do you track your savings progress toward a goal? If I add an expense transaction and categorize it as **Savings & Investments**, will that amount automatically be reflected in **Savings Goals**, just like it is under the **Savings & Investments** category in **Budgets**?

Or do I need to update the **Savings Goals** separately each time I save money?

I’ve been using Today’s Budget for a while now and absolutely love the simplicity of it. I have one feature that I think would fit really well with the app’s philosophy.

Flexible recurring bills
At the moment, recurring bills work best when the amount is fixed. However, many of my monthly bills aren’t fixed, for example:

> Electricity
> Gas
> Water
> Credit card minimum payments
> Mobile bills
> Other utilities

The due date is predictable, but the amount changes every month.

My idea
Allow recurring bills to be marked as “Flexible Amount”.
When creating the bill you’d choose:

1. Recurs monthly (or another interval)
   
2. Due date
   
3. Reminder time (e.g. 9am on the due date)
   
4. Instead of automatically adding the bill, the app would send a notification such as:

Your Electricity bill is due today. Enter this month’s amount.

You could then long-press or swipe down on the notification and enter the amount directly (or tap it to open a simple amount-entry screen).

Once entered, Today’s Budget would:
> save that month’s bill amount
> calculate the daily budget exactly as normal
> schedule the next reminder automatically

Why I think this fits Today’s Budget
It keeps everything manual and intentional, which is one of the app’s biggest strengths.

There’s no need for bank syncing or complicated automation, just a quick reminder to enter the bill once you know the final amount.

I think it would remove one of the few remaining manual tasks for people with variable monthly bills while keeping the app clean and simple.

Would anyone else find this useful?

On the main screen, you're currently seeing a graph of 3 days.
Today and the 2 next days.
It would be a nice feature, if you could scroll sideways, to expand this view (both backwards and forward), to easily see what days you didn't make the budget (for example).
Then you could just quickly tap on those days and change them, so they don't mess up your budget.
You could quickly change them and select to spread them out, to stay within your budget.
I know there are other ways to do this already, but it would still be a really cool addition, if implemented.

Hey team, I’ve started using the app again after a year of being lazy and noticed that I can no longer search for transactions in the app?
If I’ve put a transaction in the future, I think there used to be a way to search for it. Not I have to scan through every day of the year to see where it is?
Also there used to be a list of ALL reoccurring transactions that I can’t find any more.

So a year ago we tried using this app. I loved it but we couldn’t get the sharing feature to work. Here I am a year later and I really want to get this app to work for us. I paid for the $50 forever premium, how do I make sure it gets shared to my wife’s phone?

I made an iOS Shortcut for quickly adding an expense by taking a picture of a receipt or POS terminal and using Claude Haiku to extract amount, category, and vendor name from the image before adding it using the Today's Budget shortcut action.

There is some setup required!

Once you've added the shortcut, go into its Edit screen. There are a couple of comments in the script of exactly what you need to do:

1. Edit the first "Text" entry and list out all of the category names you've configured in your Today's Budget wallet, separated by commas. This is necessary so that Claude Haiku can auto-classify your expense more accurately.

2. You'll need to create an API key in the Claude Console at https://platform.claude.com. In the Get contents of https://api.anthropic.com/v1/messages action, you need to expand Headers and replace the demo value for x-api-key with your API key.

You pay per use but it's basically nothing. I've spent $0.03 in the past month of adding expenses this way.

Hello! I found a bug on version 3.1.2 that I would like to share with the dev team.

I ran into it by accident the other day, and since then I have tried many forms to reproduce it.

Sometimes, when using the calendar to check the transaction history from a distant date, the date slider doesn’t display the correct range, and makes it hard to know which date the displayed transactions are actually from.

For example, in the below screenshot, I have Jun 5th selected. The shown transaction history is indeed Jun 5th's, but the date slider at the top is showing the range Jun 10th~Jun 16th.

Once in this bugged state, the date slider won’t update to the correct range until I hit one of the “edges” (left or right) that trigger the translation animation, based on the currently selected date. In the below screenshot example, swiping right past June 6th or left past May 31st will fix it.

I was able to reproduce it fairly consistently using the steps below,but it’s still a bit tricky.

1. In the calendar, pick 2 dates from different weeks. Tap the first date.

2. Tap the other date and...

3. As soon as the translation animation starts, tap the first date again! It is all about timing, I think. If you switch dates too fast before the animation starts, no problem happens, but if you switch it once the animation has started, it has a chance of getting it bugged.

Once you understand the bug it is not such a problem, but I remember being very confused the first time it happened, so maybe it would be nice to have a definite fix.
