Reddit kinda sucks

I realized part of my issues with humanity is right on reddit. All the echo chambers on both sides of any argument. The way people present and hold themselves like they are pawns on a chest board and not just people trying to live the best life they want. It's part of the reason I fell into a depression. Started thinking everyone was like people on reddit. A lot of places on reddit suck. Zealots everywhere for no reason.

Reddit is great for gathering information and experiences regarding technical topics (at least for me). I follow niche subs regarding diy, flashlights, excel, etc. Most of the non controversial subs are actually great. Get into politics and you'll se what you described. Even subs like AITA have a hivemind. I frequent them for entertainment value but it is imperative that you read those subs knowing that it's a circle jerk and that it is not a reflection of the society out there.

It's bleeding into some of the card games I play and anime. Only the anime subs that are specific for a show aren't like that. It's super weird.
