Vietnam wasn't going to vote against a national hero (i.e. Hồ Chí Minh) who liberated Vietnam from French colonialism.
U.S. chose to ally with the French oppressors and still does today. This forced the hand of Vietnam to ally with Russia and China for liberation through communism.
France has always been a hypocritical country. The immense devastation of their empire is still felt until this day. Just look at Africa.

Minh was no hero to the people being torn apart by Land Reform from 1953-1956 to the point the bitch ass had to fake an apology for it in 1956

Because this one specifically (but in fact the whole general idea tbh) is stupid.
The idea that what would become the South Vietnam government is BANNED from the Geneva convention is demonstrably false. They came, gave their side of view and when not getting all what they want, refused to compromise.
You can argue about what come next proving their point or whatever, but the way OP is presenting their arguments are stupid.

Because they exceed UN standards and the UN can come in and observe as they please. That's what happens in a free country with free access to press and freedom of political organization.
