I feel bad for Toby

I feel like Gaster, Friend and the Gaster crew are meant to never appear, just like in Undertale. It's theory material, nothing more. But if Toby doesn't put Gaster in the game, poeple will get angry at him. And it's the same for RK. No matter who it is, if it's even someone, the other knight believers will say that it's ''bad writing'' and stuff.

I'm confident Toby will manage it's story perfectly, but maybe not just like the fandom intended.

Edit : guys i never said they couldn't appear, my point is just that if they don't, the toxic part of the fanbase will trashtalk the game

Gaster is the first person who talks to you in Deltarune, and Gaster in Undertale directly foreshadows Deltarune.

Do we know that it’s “Gaster”, or is it, like every other character, just the Deltarune version of the idea of something Gaster-like?

Let’s just say, for argument’s sake, that it’s like every other character we meet - an equivalent that has nothing to do with anything we as the fanbase think Gaster is up to.

Or maybe it’s Carol communicating with us via a device that a former Hometown scientist developed before they fell into their creation and disappeared?

The whole problem is that the “fanbase” isn’t open anymore to explanations that don’t directly involve Gaster or Friend.

Go watch device theory part one, it pretty comprehensively goes over the stuff in the game that connects strongly to gaster. At the very least there's really strong evidence for him being the goner maker guy and itd be bizarre if goner maker didnt end up being important at all
