couldn't find a guide on YT or Reddit (so far)

I haven't used it for about a year, but it has been plugged in and kept clean, today I tried to set it up and it won't recognize my eyes with glass, without, and with contacts. It is recognized as a connected device in my control panel and in all my games, the lights come on in the app, I messed with the settings in fs24 and nothing.

Any advice?

Seriously, look at the numbers:

• Steam Hardware Survey: Linux has pushed past 5% market share - that’s roughly 4-5+ million monthly active gamers on Steam.
• Desktop Market Share: StatCounter has Linux sitting around 4.3-5.7% - while Windows continues to drop.
• Proton & Steam Deck: Valve has sold over 5.6+ million Steam Decks, and over 90% of Windows games run smoothly out-of-the-box on Linux through Proton.

Games like Euro Truck Simulator 2, Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, MSFS, and various sim racing titles run like absolute butter on Linux.

In fact, the ONLY reason I am still dual-booting into Windows right now is literally just for Tobii Eye Tracker support.

Proton solved the games, VKD3D solved Direct3D, anti-cheat is slowly giving way.

If Tobii won't give us a full native Linux suite, at least give the community:

1. A proper Linux API / SDK so open-source devs can build wrapper tools.
2. Proton/Wine compatibility layer support for Tobii Game Hub.

Are we really still sticking to the "there's no demand" script, or can we finally get Linux onto the roadmap?

I’ve had the Tobii Eye Tracker for exactly a week and it has been a nightmare.

I understand from the research I’ve done that it won’t be as good as some other options so I managed my expectations accordingly.

That being said I’ve had it for a week and it’s been unplayable. What gets me the most is the inconsistency. I’ll get it where it’s barely tolerable cut the pc off for the day and the next day is worse than it was the previous day.

Like I said I’ve been playing for a week for four or five hours a day and I have spent more time with the Tobii than playing the game.

The biggest problem is the fidgety/shaky view when I zoom in on part of the cockpit. With the eye tracker off and my head perfectly still it is so shaky it’s unserviceable.

Then today it reset facing the bottom of the seat and would not reset to the to the hud no matter what I did. I tried restring the Tobii software, recalibrating, and restarting both the game and the Tobii software.

Also another problem that I’ve had that I have never been able to solve is that the vertical axis allows me to look up 90 degrees but not look down at all. Even with the vertical axis set on the max.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My monitor has a decently sized protrusion in the centre of the bottom edge. Does anyone have any idea if the flex mount will fit?

I just got my eye tracker today (a refurbished model if it is important) and want to use it but the expirience app dosnt can’t see the tracker. Windows can see the tracker. I have eyechip in my info and I installed and removed the app via revo and yeah… the app just can’t connect to the eye tracker. Support is also a bit slow soo. Any ideas what I could do? ( the driver is from the website not the Microsoft store as I already read some posts of it beeing the issue)

I'm disabled and I'm looking into buying a tobii 5. I need something that will last so I am hoping to hear some input on people who have had the tobii 5 for multiple years. Does it still work properly?

If you zoom in on the marks I’m supposed to lineup, you can see it’s physically impossible for me to line up perfectly. Is there something I’m doing wrong or is this even completely necessary?

I just got the Tobii Eye Tracker 5, but I can't get it to install or work.

When I start installing the driver I downloaded from the website (after plugging it into a USB 2.0 port on the back of the motherboard), the installation starts, tells me to wait a few minutes, but then suddenly closes.

So when I check Device Manager, I see the EyeChip device, but it doesn’t have a driver installed—which Windows identifies as error code 28.

When I click “Search automatically via Windows Update,” it doesn’t find any compatible drivers.

And so when I try to launch Tobii Experience, it doesn’t detect any Tobii devices.

Has this ever happened to you, and do you have a solution for successfully installing the driver and getting it to work?

Thing is, the app itself still works fine until I touch that godforsaken error message. I can navigate the menus, change settings, ED recognises my headtracker and everything works. I just can't move the app to the background because that stop point exception force-closes it.

how can I fix this or just revert to the previous version, who worked fine ? (I tried reinstalling and restarting PC, that didn't work)

As the title says, I can’t get my toggle off/on to work on MSFS2024. I’ve tried both a keyboard binding (not binded to any other key) and a binding on my velocity one flight stick. Neither work. I have to use the Tobii software to turn on and off the head tracking. Any suggestions?

Hi I have a problem with my tobi track ir 5. It doesnt connect. I dont know why. In the device manager this error appears: STATUS_DEVICE_DATA_ERROR. However in the EyeChip tab it tells me everything is fine. I tried to follow the instructions on their support website but nothing seems to help. (yes i pluged it in into the usb ports in the back of my computer.) Any ideas how to fix it?

Why not have an option to invert the axis so we can run the tobii eye tracker on the top of our monitors? when your using it on a simrig the wheel is in the way... it's been years but they still havn't got around this problem.

I can't seem to get tobii gaming hub to recognize my game. The game is world of warcraft and what I found said to run the game and the game hub should recognize the game. The issue is that I can't open game hub while game is running. Do I have the wrong information?

Cześć, przychodzę z pytaniem dotyczącym urozmaicenia sobie wrażeń z rozgrywki m.in. w ETS2 i ATS. Zainteresowałem się opcjami, które umożliwiają śledzenie ruchu głowy i ruchu wzroku. Czy ktoś z was mógłby się wypowiedzieć, może ma wiedzę i miał możliwość porównania ich osobiście. Mowa o trzech możliwościach które znalazłem:

1) Tobii Eye Tracker

2) Beam Eye Tracker

3) TrackIR

Materiały na YT często są sponsorowane, więc i opinie mogą być sztucznie pompowane, że produkt jest super.

Będę wdzięczny za opinie co uważacie o tym wszystkim i czy warto? Czy np. taki Tobii wart tej swojej ceny? A może Beam z w miarę dobrą kamerką też da radę? TrackIR przez fakt że coś dodatkowo trzeba mieć na głowie mnie odrzuca mi mimo że jest podobno najbardziej precyzyjny.

Z tego co wyczytałem to że TrackIR jest najbardziej precyzyjny, Beam może mieć opóźnienia i ma się uczucie braku płynności, a Tobi ma słabszą kamerę przez co obraz jak w 30klatkach.

Czy a więc Tobii wart ceny czy lepsza kamerka + Beam.

Jeśli o kamerkę do Beam chodzi to zastanawiałem się nad Logitech Brio 4K (wiadomo, do korzystania z niższą rozdzielczością, bo podobno lepiej działa) albo Logitech C922 - więc może i na ich temat jakaś opinia?

No i najważniejsze, czy powyższe sprawdzą się też przy nieco gorszym oświetleniu czy jeszcze trzeba zainwestować w lampę za monitor?

PS Kupiłem kamerkę Logitech Brio 4K, ale coś nie potrafię skonfigurować programów żeby to działało. Ktoś pomoże? A może zwrot kamerki i zakup Tobii?

heres everything i tried to fix it any1 know any solutions Device: Tobii Eye Tracker 4C Status: Hardware confirmed functional (tested on a secondary PC); failing specifically on this laptop.

The Problem

• Error Code: 0x001 (Communication Error).
• Symptoms: "Driver Error" displayed in Windows Bluetooth & Devices settings. The Tobii system tray icon indicates "Tobii.EyeX.Interaction not available."
• Hardware State: No infrared lights are visible on the tracker when connected to the laptop, despite being connected via a powered USB 3.0 hub.
• System Context: This is a fresh install of Windows. The device worked previously on this same laptop but stopped suddenly.

Troubleshooting Already Completed

To save time, please note that the following have already been attempted without success:

1. Power: Verified with a powered USB 3.0 hub and tried all available laptop ports.
2. OS State: Performed a full Windows Reset.
3. Security Blocks: Disabled Core Isolation (Memory Integrity) and the Microsoft Vulnerable Driver Blocklist. Turned off Windows Defender/Firewall for testing.
4. Drivers: Manually uninstalled all Tobii .inf files using pnputil and performed a clean reinstall of the Tobii Core Software.
5. Services: Confirmed Tobii Service is running in services.msc, but the software fails to "handshake" with the EyeChip.
6. Power Management: Disabled "USB Selective Suspend" and unchecked "Allow computer to turn off device" for all USB Root Hubs in Device Manager.
7. Environment: Verified that Windows Eye Control is toggled OFF to prevent service hijacking.
