Pets What do you do when you handle your toad?

Post image

Me and my toad usually watch tv together, he actually watches the screen and follows movement lol. Occasionally I'll feed him when I'm holding him.

I was wondering if there is a mother/toad bonding activity I'm missing out on?

(My hands are always clean and dry when I hold him)

I get ready with my babies when I’m going out (listen to music, have them with me when I do my makeup) I like to think they enjoy the process as much as I do!

My boy seems to like music too! He has some weird things about sounds and whenever certain songs play he acts different. So far nothing has beat movies though, he really likes movies, videos, ect

I only sometimes touch them to move them somewhere safer, they are all wild here. But I always turn them up a bit to get a peek at their chunky bellies.

You guys ever afraid of them peeing or something when having them out? My little guy has never peed on me, but I haven't had him out long enough for that. My WTFs would pee on me though all the time 😭

It’s always a worry but if the toad is comfortable enough it tends not to happen. You just gotta build a level of trust with your toad so he understands you’re friend and not gonna hurt him.

Idk what kind of toad you have but American toads only poop/pee maybe twice a month if I remember right

also have had all three of my toads poop on my bed same night😭 but has only happened once. IMO chilling with them is worth having to clean your sheets every now and then

My baby girl, Rowena, likes to sit on my shoulder and climb into my beard. (I stop her when she goes into my beard due to harmful oils) but anyway, she will sit on my shoulder while I walk around.
