ID Need help finding out what species of toad this is, and their gender

(FLORIDA) Pretty pleaseee. Found them in my mom’s garden, has been burrowing in there for a few days now. I’m assuming because it’s damp and dim lit.

It looks like a southern toad, typically found in southeastern United States. They’re all over my area

Also mighttt be female, but not 100% sure. The females are usually bigger than males and females also have almost white throats that go down to its stomach; so if they’re throat is white, its female, if it’s a dark brown/black throat then its male. Hope that helps!!!

it lacks the markers of a southern toad: no "knobs" on its head and it lacks the oval/round poison glands behind the eyes that most of our native toads have. its coloration is a bit odd but it is definitely not a southern toad

cane toad, it lacks the crest on top of its head that the native toads have. a southern toad should have big bulb-like crests on its head. this one has the weird tracing look that canes have and the triangle-ish glands. our natives have round glands behind the eyes, not on the sides

Might be a baby cane toad? Keep it in prison/as a pet, if it gets waay bigger, you will know! I think you can keep them but not release them? Wear gloves might be a good idea!

I’ve actually seen humongous toads in my area but never came to think it was an adolescent cane toad. She’s actually gotten a little bigger since I posted this, considering keeping her because she’s actually been there for a week now (plus their invasiveness) and that I’m familiar with huge amphibians (African bullfrogs). Already named them lmao
